Book Description
A treacherous journey, a band of desperate rogues, a shocking, hidden truth. When Nicholas Elyot and his friends set out to spend the Christmas season in the country, they are prepared for a hard journey in winter weather. They are also wary of violence on the road, for these are troubled times after the Great Pestilence, when bands of dispossessed and desolate men roam the countryside of England. It is not surprising, therefore, when troubadours hired to provide entertainment at Leighton Manor are attacked in Wychwood. Yet why should this insignificant group draw the attention of outlaws... what could they be searching for? Is one of the troubadours not quite what he seems? A thrilling addition to the pulse-pounding medieval mystery series, perfect for fans of C. J. Sansom, Edward Marston and Paul Doherty.

Book Description
Nikki Stoddard Schofield is the author of three previously-published Civil War novels. Bondage and Freedom, A Civil War Romance is about guerrilla warfare in East Tennessee with a Yankee nurse, Lydia, who is suffering from post traumatic stress, and Brinton Good, a Confederate captain who does his military duties while also caring for her. Alas Richmond, A Civil War Romance, is about Verity, a Southern belle, and Giles, an Englishman and a Union spy, during the final days of the capital of the Confederacy. Treason Afoot, A Civil War Romance, tells the story of the Indianapolis Treason Trials in 1864 in Ms. Schofield's hometown. Emeline Tanner and Jay Hadley live through those tumultuous times, which resulted in the U.S. Supreme Court decision of Ex Parte Milligan. Nikki is currently doing research on her next novel, Confederates in Canada. Ms. Schofield is the mother of two sons, Rob who lives with his wife Vicki in Ohio, and Gaven who lives with his wife Christine and three daughters in Virginia. She has five granddaughters, Bridget, Stephanie, Abigail, Gabrielle, and Lily; one grandson, Nicholas; one great-grandson, Gonzalo, and one great-granddaughter, Bella. From 1974 to 2012, Nikki was the law librarian at the Indianapolis office of Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, formerly Bingham Summers Welsh & Spilman. Upon entering phased retirement, she took a second job as the Staff Genealogist at Crown Hill Cemetery, where she works on Fridays. Also at Crown Hill, the third largest private cemetery in the country, Nikki serves as a tour guide specializing in the Civil War personalities. In October 2011, Nikki began volunteering one day a week at the Indiana State Library, Manuscript and Rare Book Division, where she creates finding aids available on the Internet. Many of the items Nikki summarizes in these finding aids are from Civil War collections. This work enables her to read what people of that era wrote and thought, thus providing authenticity to her novels. A member of Speedway Baptist Church, Ms. Schofield is an ordained deacon, moderator of the business meetings, adult Sunday school teacher, and assistant treasurer. For five years, she served as one of two representatives from the North Central region on the Coordinating Council of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship with which her church is affiliated. As president of the Indianapolis Civil War Round Table for two terms, Nikki was elected for a third term in May 2013. She has also served the club as director for the annual trips, secretary, and newsletter editor. Ms. Schofield gave first-person presentations of Civil War women including Belle Boyd, Confederate spy; Mary Surratt, Lincoln conspirator; Mary Ann Morrison Jackson, wife of Stonewall Jackson; Helen Pitts Douglass, the second wife of orator and abolitionist Frederick Douglass; Lucinda Morton, the wife of Indiana's Civil War Governor; Susan Slater, Confederate spy; and several others. Ms. Schofield is a member of the Baptist History & Heritage Society as well as a member of the Fellowship of Baptist Historians

Book Description
The Elizabethan playwright, poet and satirist, Thomas Nashe was the author of ‘The Unfortunate Traveller’, the first picaresque novel of English literature. His masterpiece was ‘Pierce Penniless, His Supplication to the Divell’, a prose satire that was among the most popular of the Elizabethan pamphlets. Employing a free and extemporaneous prose style, full of colloquialisms, neologisms and fantastic idiosyncrasies, Nashe entertains the reader with a story in which immediate entertainment is favoured over narrative structure. Complex, witty and colourfully anecdotal, Nashe’s work is as brash and bitingly sharp today as when it was first penned over four centuries ago. For the first time, this eBook presents Nashe’s complete works, with numerous illustrations, rare texts, informative introductions and the usual Delphi bonus material. (Version 1) * Beautifully illustrated with images relating to Nashe’s life and works * Concise introductions to the major texts * All the plays, poetry and pamphlets, with individual contents tables * Rare texts appearing for the first time in digital publishing * Images of how the books were first published, giving your eReader a taste of the original texts * Excellent formatting of the texts * Scarce pamphlets available in no other collection * Includes Nashe’s poetry * Features two biographies – discover Nashe’s Elizabethan world * Ordering of texts into chronological order and genres CONTENTS: The Novel The Unfortunate Traveller (1594) The Plays Summer’s Last Will and Testament (1592) The Tragedie of Dido, Queene of Carthage (1594) The Poetry The Choise of Valentines (c. 1593) Other Verses Harvey-Nashe Controversy Pamphlets Strange Newes, of the Intercepting Certaine Letters (1592) Christ’s Tears over Jerusalem (1593) Have with You to Saffron-Walden (1596) Other Pamphlets The Anatomy of Absurdity (1589) A Countercuffe Given to Martin Junio (1589) The Returne of Pasquill (1589) Preface to Greene’s Menaphon (1589) An Almond for a Parrot (1590) The First Parte of Pasquils Apologie (1590) A Wonderfull strange and miraculous Astrologicall Prognostication (1591) Preface to Sir Philip Sidney’s Astrophel and Stella (1591) Pierce Penilesse His Supplication to the Divell (1592) The Terrors of the Night (1594) Nashe’s Lenten Stuffe (1599) The Biographies An Essay on the Life and Writings of Thomas Nash (1892) by Edmund Gosse Thomas Nashe (1900) by Sidney Lee

Crispin Guest is summoned to a London priory to unmask a merciless killer. Can he discover who is committing the deadliest of sins? 1399, London. A drink at the Boar’s Tusk takes an unexpected turn for Crispin Guest, Tracker of London, and his apprentice, Jack Tucker, when a messenger claims the prioress at St. Frideswide wants to hire him to investigate murders at the priory. Meanwhile, trouble is brewing outside of London when the exiled Henry Bolingbroke, the new Duke of Lancaster, returns to England’s shores with an army to take back his inheritance.
