Book Description
Tranquil Waters New Original PIANO / KEYBOARD SOLOS For Intermediate Players The object of this book has been to produce a collection of original pieces which are both reasonably easy and enjoyable to play. I hope I’ve succeeded. I certainly enjoy playing all of them. The original compositions in this collection range from moderately easy to intermediate, but certainly not difficult. Although I have indicated this in the overview, they are not featured in any particular order of how difficult they are. In relation to the Associated Board grades, I would rate these pieces at between grades 3 and 5. All have been written with a ‘chord line’ so that you can see which chord you are actually playing and also creates the possibility of being accompanied by a guitarist, or possibly auto-accompaniment. Additionally, many of the pieces can be played on a four or five octave keyboard, although most will require at least 6 octaves. All the compositions featured in this book can be heard on the web link in the book preview. If you have the kindle edition or even the printed edition, any or all the pages can be printed out as required by downloading the pdf edition without further charge. This will enable you to avoid any irritating page turns and / or to make notes as you require as well as being able to hear the audio examples. The free pdf link is at the end of the book (page 68). The printable pdf edition is for use by anyone who has legitimately purchased the book only, and not for free distribution. Please honour my copyright - thank you.

Landscape Infrastructure
Author: Ying-Yu Hung
Publisher: Walter de Gruyter
ISBN: 3034611544
Category : Architecture
Languages : en
Pages : 184
Book Description
Infrastructure is a much discussed topic within the field of landscape architecture. It regards the entire urban and rural space as a network that calls for an integrated planning and urban design approach. Natural and man-made infrastructures are viewed as forming a single, overarching whole. The book examines this robust and ecologically sustainable approach with essays by well-known experts in the field. It also documents 14 international case studies by SWA landscape architects and urban designers, among them the technologically innovative roof domes for Renzo Piano’s California Academy of Science in San Francisco, the restoration of the Buffalo Bayou in Houston, and several master plans for ecological corridors in China and Korea. Other projects develop smart re-use concepts for railroad tracks that no longer serve their original purpose, such as Kyung-Chun railway in Seoul or Katy Trail in Dallas. All projects are described extensively with technical diagrams and plans. The publication offers ideas for reinventing, repurposing, and repositioning infrastructure as a viable medium for addressing issues of ecology, transit, urbanism, and habitat.

Coming Out of Egypt
Author: K.C. Stricker
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
ISBN: 1498277020
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 837
Book Description
Coming Out of Egypt is an exodus out of idolatry--the idolatry of ancient Egypt and the idolatry that permeates the church today. Its goal is to make the exodus come alive for the reader--not to just read about the exodus but to experience the exodus, not to just read about the Passover but to experience the Passover, to catapult the reader back through time like a time traveler entering a time portal. The goal of Coming Out of Egypt is to experience redemption, not just to read about redemption, to experience redemption from Pharaoh at the Reed Sea, and witness Yeshua's resurrection.

The Hungry Are Dying
Author: Susan R. Holman
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 0198031858
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 250
Book Description
This study examines the theme of poverty in the fourth-century sermons of Basil of Caesarea, Gregory Nazianzen, and Gregory Nysson. These sermons are especially important for what they tell us about the history of poverty relief and the role of fourth century Christian theology in constructing the body of the redemptive, involuntary poor. Some of the topics explored include the contextualization of the poor in scholarship, the poor in late antiquity, and starvation and famine dynamics. In exploring this relationship between cultural context and theological language, this volume offers a broad and fresh overview of these little-studied texts.
