Excerpt from State Laws and Court Decisions Relating to Cattle-Tick Eradication Sec. 14. Any person or corporation who shall violate the provisions of this act, being either the owners of such cattle, or carriers or driver for hire or otherwise, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof be fined in any sum not less than fifty dollars nor more than two hundred dollars. Sec. 15. Any citizen of this State shall have the power, and it shall be the duty of all peace officers of the respective counties of this State, to stop any cattle driven or transported or being transported across said quarantine line from south to north, and impound and drive or transport said cattle back south of the said quarantine line; and all costs and expenses incurred by such citizen or peace officer incurred in impounding or driving such cattle back south of said quarantine line shall be taxed as costs against the person or corporation convicted of.
