The monograph is an attempt to expound certain basic contemorary concepts on the theory of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) (RMP). The literature list contains a number of books and also survey articles devoted to NMR. However, in all these works basic attention is given to graphic physical interpretation of phenomenon and to experimental problems of this method and its applications. Theoretical questions of NMR in available books and survey articles receive comparatively little space. In the monograph the authors ignore entirely questions connected with experimental techniques in NMR, referring the reader to cited works. Chapters I and II are devoted to theory of nuclear paramagnetic relaxation; Chapter III - questions of form of line in solid bodies; Chapter IV - theoretical questions of magnetic spectroscopy (chemical shift and spin-spin interaction in molecules); in Chapter V are considered certain questions connected with Bloch phenomenological equations.
