Book Description
The Written World of God is the first systematic overview of the science of letters ('ilm al-huruf) according to the great Andalusian spiritual master, scholar, poet and philosopher Ibn 'Arabi (d. 1240). Ibn 'Arabi defined the science of letters as familiarity with the building blocks of the Quranic revelation and everything in the world of nature. Letters are understood as visual and aural signs pointing to the mysteries of existence. The present study examines how the universe came to be, for what purpose it was created and the hierarchical structure it is endowed with. It is an old story told anew - through the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet, their orthographic forms and the meanings attributed to them, using Ibn 'Arabi's own diagrams. Although the story could be told through geometric figures or numbers, letters were chosen on the basis of Ibn 'Arabi's doctrine that the meanings carried by the letters fully encompasses the whole of existence: God and the universe.

Book Description
At the time of Jesus' birth , the world was full of gods. Thousands of them jostled, competed and merged with one another. In Syria ecstatic devotees castrated themselves in the streets to become priests of Atargatis In Galilee, holy men turned oil into wine, healed the sick, drove out devils, and claimed to be the Messiah. Every day thousands of people were leaving their family and tribes behind them and flocking into brand new multi-ethnic cities. The ancient world was in ferment as it underwent the first phase of globalisation, and in this ferment rulers and ruled turned to religion as a source of order and stability. Augustus, the first emperor of Rome (though he never dared officially to call himself so) was maneuvering his way to becoming worshipped as a god – it was one of the most brilliant makeovers ever undertaken by a ruler and his spin doctors. In North Africa, Amanirenas the warrior queen exploited her god-like status to inspire her armies to face and defeat Rome. In China the usurper Wang Mang won and lost his throne because of his obsession with Confucianism. To explore the power that religious belief has had over societies through the ages, Selina O'Grady takes the reader on a dazzling journey across the empires of the ancient world and introduces us to rulers, merchants, messiahs, priests and holy men. Throughout, she seeks to answer why, amongst the countless religious options available, the empires at the time of Jesus ‘chose' the religions they did? Why did China's rulers hitch their fate to Confucianism, a philosophy more than a religion? And why was a tiny Jewish cult led by Jesus eventually adopted by Rome's emperors rather than the cult of Isis which was far more popular and widespread? The Jesus cult , followed by no more than 100 people at the time of his death, should, by rights, have disappeared in a few generations. Instead it became the official religion of the Roman Empire. Why did Christianity grow so quickly to become the predominant world religion? What was it about its teachings that so appealed to people? And Man Created God looks at why and how religions have had such an immense impact on human history and in doing so uncovers the ineradicable connection between politics and religion - a connection which still defines us in our own age. This is an important, thrilling and necessary new work of history.

Book Description
A person’s handwriting reveals something about who they are—their intellect, perspectives, natural abilities, and hidden aptitudes. It’s also a form of expression that sends a message about how they want to be seen by others. In our lives and world, things are not as they are by accident. They’re written in a specific way, and the size, placement, direction, and pressure of strokes has everything to do with the One who signed His name on it all. The Signature of God is about a God who reveals who He is through the beauty and intricacy of creation. He’s signed His name on all He made, and the purpose in it is nothing short of miraculous. Nature, the universe, and God’s interaction with us through His creation say much about Him and how He feels about us. If we look carefully at His writing, we realize that He’s always given us a way to know His character and heart. In this book of Christian apologetics and personal reflection, Rhonda Dawes Milner delves into her experiences as a physician, therapist, spiritual director, and mother to show us the significance and meaning of God’s signature in our lives and in the world.

Book Description
Learn from the book of Daniel how to live confidently for Christ today. What does it look like to live with joy in a society that does not like what Christians believe, say or do? It’s tempting to grow angry, keep our heads down, retreat or just give up altogether. But this isn’t the first time that God’s people have had to learn how to live in a pagan world that opposes God’s rule. In this realistic yet positive book, renowned Bible teacher Alistair Begg examines the first seven chapters of Daniel to show us how to live bravely, confidently and obediently in an increasingly secular society. Readers will see that God is powerful and God is sovereign, and even in the face of circumstances that appear to be prevailing against his people, we may trust him entirely. We can be as brave as Daniel if we have faith in Daniel’s God! "The message of Daniel is incredibly relevant for us in our generation. Not because it maps out a strategy for how to deal with our new lack of status ... or because Daniel was a great man and we need to follow his example. The reason is that it will help us to believe in Daniel’s God." Alistair Begg, author.

Book Description
Building on years of research and teaching, experienced author and theologian David Wells offers a remedy for evangelicalism’s superficial theology and weightless conception of God: a journey to discover the paradoxical nature of his holiness and love. We all struggle, at times, to hold that paradox together, commonly resulting in problems such as liberalism or legalism. Yet understanding how God’s holiness is inextricably bound to his love is what enables us to live between the two extremes and defines our life of service in this world. In the vein of classics such as Packer’s Knowing God, Wells’s biblical theology is written at an accessible level so that all readers can cultivate a balanced vision of the God who belongs in the center of it all.

Book Description
We live in the midst of a crisis of home. It is evident in the massive uprooting and migration of millions across the globe, in the anxious nationalism awaiting immigrants in their destinations, in the unhoused populations in wealthy cities, in the fractured households of families, and in the worldwide destruction of habitats and international struggles for dominance. It is evident, perhaps more quietly but just as truly, in the aching sense that there is nowhere we truly belong. In this moment, the Christian faith has been disappointingly inept in its response. We need a better witness to the God who created, loves, and reconciles this world, who comes to dwell among us. This book tells the "story of everything" in which God creates the world as the home for humans and for God in communion with God's creatures. The authors render the story of creation, redemption, and consummation through the lens of God's homemaking work and show the theological fruit of telling the story this way. The result is a vision that can inspire creative Christian living in our various homes today in faithfulness to God's ongoing work.

Book Description
In 1981 a beautiful lady appeared to six young people in the village of Medjugorje in what is now Bosnia-Herzegovina. She said, "I have come to tell the world that God exists. He is the fullness of life, and to enjoy this fullness and peace, you must return to God." She told them that She was the Blessed Virgin Mary, the "Queen of Peace." She has continued to appear since 1981 to give messages of peace, love and joy. She is confiding ten secrets to each visionary and promises to leave a visible sign at the place of the apparitions in Medjugorje. This time of grace is for conversion and deepening of faith. After the visible sign, those living will have little time for conversion. Many books have been written about Medjugorje, but this one, and Volume I and Volume II of this series, are different. They include not only information about Medjugorje and talks and interviews with the visionaries, but also heartfelt testimonies of people who have been healed and changed through Medjugorje, and advice, written from the heart by ordinary people, on how to live the messages. This book will truly touch your heart and lift your spirits.
