Gentle wizard Mikal Novastar's life is complacent and secure as a mystic instructor at the School of the Three Moons in the Great City of Addis. This changes, however, when an extraordinary prophecy urges him to embark upon a heroic and dangerous adventure. Armed with a staff of light and joined by his summoned feline Majam, and an inscrutable thief, and a very young half-elf, Mikal must overcome vicious wererats, ghastly blood goblins, horrific gloomhounds, savage slavers, an exceptional and mysterious Stone Mage, and the enigmatic dragon Em-Le. Nothing could have prepared him, however, for dealing with the calculating evil of Path Bloodhue and his powerful Red Robed Wizards. And against the legion of the perfidious Black Robed Wizards, with their lethal dark assassins and brutal black blades, how can he possibly hope to triumph or even survive? And then there are the squirrels.

Book Description
Mikal Novastar has recently been accepted into the exclusive and secretive Circle of the White Wizard. Although virtually sightless, he is capable of experiencing his world through the senses of his familiar, Majam, an exquisite white cat. His compassionate nature makes it difficult for him to refuse assistance to any who ask. He does, however, recognize his limitations. When he is called upon to face a dark enemy that he realizes is far beyond his abilities to overcome, he evokes from limbo an ancient warrior, Sir Rusel Ironwood, to be his champion. He is aware that he has made dangerous enemies and fears for his daughter's safety when he inadvertently reveals her existence as a student at The School of the Three Moons. When it becomes evident that she has been targeted by assassins he is torn between protecting his only child's well-being and his duty to defend the land from the ravages of the Dark Knight.

Book Description
The heroes and villains of Norse mythology have endured for centuries, infiltrating art, opera, film, television and books, shape-shifting like the trickster Loki to suit the cultures that encountered them. Through careful analysis of the literature and archaeology of the Norse world, Carolyne Larrington takes us deep into the realm described in the Icelandic sagas, from the gloomy halls of Hel to the dazzling heights of Asgard. She expertly examines the myths many modern-day reimaginings, revealing the guises that have been worn by the figures of Norse myth, including Marvels muscled, golden-haired Thor and George R.R Martins White Walkers, who march inexorably southwards, bringing their eternal winter with them. This sophisticated yet accessible guide explores how these powerful stories have inspired our cultural landscape, from fuelling the creative genius of Wagner to the construction of the Nazis nationalist ideology. Larringtons elegantly written retellings capture the essence of the original myths while also delving into the history of their meanings. The myths continue to speak to such modern concerns as masculinity and environmental disaster after the inevitable, apocalyptic ragna rök, renewal comes from the roots of Yggdrasill, the World Tree.

Book Description
Under the nom de guerre of Gar Pike, renegade psychic wizard Magnus D'Armand travels the stars fighting injustice and oppression, like his father, Rod Gallowglass, the Warlock in Spite of Himself. But unlike his famous father, Magnus refuses to play by the rules, sowing the seeds of freedom and revolution throughout the galaxy. A Wizard in the Way When his longtime traveling companion settled down and got married, Gar Pike—the Rogue Wizard—had thought it would be even better to work alone: no distractions, no disagreements, no one to care about but himself. But he wasn't alone for long. He recently managed to saddle himself with a new companion: Alea, a young woman with a certain amount of psychic ability and a heavy dose of attitude to boot. The funny thing is, he's beginning to like having her around—particularly when they land on the planet of Oldeira. The problems Gar and Alea encounter on Oldeira include not only the tyrannical Wizard Lords who rule the provinces, but also the attitude that has been beaten and bred into their serfs. To complicate matters, Gar and Alea adopt two desperate peasants who are perfect examples of the mind-set of the entire lower class. How to raise morale and shape these people into a force that will overcome their oppressors while not getting caught or killed themselves—these are all questions that Gar and Alea must answer fast. And the only way to do it is: The Way.

Book Description
Book One: "Way of the Wizards " Series Fifteen wizards who live in a barren place need to find apprentices to pass on their knowledge of magic and wizardry before they die. The first problem they face is remembering how to speak, as they currently use only telepathic communication. This gave me a fun way of introducing each of them and a glimpse into their characters. They send out seven wizards into the world who each bring back an apprentice. One wizard notices that four of the candidates are females this causes a discussion on the reasons why wizards have always been men and they have to change their rules. This created a way for me to look at the male and female differences real and imagined. Each apprentice has a form of communication problem giving me an opportunity to explore the ways kids adapt to protect themselves from life experiences and different forms of life abuse. Each apprentice has to go before the higher council who has to decide if each of them have the right spirit, stamina, strength and are dedicated to become wizards and to live in the middle of nowhere. There is lots of problem solving that takes place as each group adapts to the other and how each individual personality unfolds. As the wizards have lived so long with only each other for company they have all became more and more like each other and as things change so do they slowly become more of an individual. Author J. E. Honey James' ambitions as a writer are to communicate, entertain, and give something back for what he has received from the books and people that has helped him so often over the years. The author of many short stories, James has co-authored Purple Moon with Sue McCormack and offered many other story ideas to others. He has had a couple of short stories published by the Alternative Natural Philosophy Association. James is interested in other things such as painting, drawing, and carving, not to mention his studies with various healing energies. James has retired to Wales, and is devoting more time to writing the "Way of the Wizards" Series. Visit the wizards of Pearland and their apprentices at and interact with them!
