Book Description
"Worship, Warfare and Intercession before the Throne of God" was born from the foundry of over twenty-three years ministry of prophetic intercession for the nations. Bob travelled with prophetic intercessors to China and Japan in the Far East, and to many nations on the continents of Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, Canada and Australasia. In 2010, in a vision, Bob was caught up into heaven, where the Lord gave him a glimpse of the worship, warfare and intercession before the throne of God. Later, God told him to write the book. "Worship, Warfare and Intercession before the Throne of God" is that book. This book teaches us how we can pattern our worship according to the worship in heaven. It calls us to join with heaven, in intercession and warfare, for the return of the Lord and the setting up of His kingdom on the earth. Events are unfolding at a rapid speed, and the church, the true bride, must get herself ready. Heaven waits to hear her voice, as one sound with heaven. This book has two parts. Part I describes the worship that Bob experienced in heaven. Bob teaches about the seven aspects of worship in heaven, and how they are key ingredients for our worship in the last days on the earth. He has teamed with Jill Shannon (see www.coffeetalkswithmessiah.com) who produced a worship CD which puts the teachings into a practical manner. This CD is really awesome. Part II of the book is about intercession in heaven. As each seal of the scroll is broken in heaven by the Lamb, the book explodes with the reality of the intercessions in the book of Revelation. These intercessions born out of worship, move events towards a definite purpose: The restoration and renewal of the earth for the return of King Jesus. Heaven invites earth to join in this ONE SOUND of worship, warfare and intercession. The final chapter of the book offers practical suggestions how to use the book and CD for worship and intercession for small groups and larger groups.

Pages : 247
Book Description
Nothing is more important than worship. It is the theme of Scripture, the theme of eternity, and the theme of redemptive history— to worship the true and living and glorious God is the purpose of all creation. So why do we treat it as only what is sung or played in church on Sunday morning? Pastor John MacArthur leads you through Scripture texts about true worship. You will learn that worship is any essential expression of service rendered unto God by a soul that loves and extols Him for who He is. Worship is the nonstop role of believers, not merely part of a church service. So get ready to alter your priorities, aiming higher than entertaining worshipers on Sunday mornings. Worship shows that your ultimate priority must always be to worship the true and living God, with a radically different type of living.

Worship by the Book

Pages : 260
Book Description
“What is at stake is authenticity. . . . Sooner or later Christians tire of public meetings that are profoundly inauthentic, regardless of how well (or poorly) arranged, directed, performed. We long to meet, corporately, with the living and majestic God and to offer him the praise that is his due.”—D. A. CarsonWorship is a hot topic, but the ways that Christians from different traditions view it vary greatly. What is worship? More important, what does it look like in action, both in our corporate gatherings and in our daily lives? These concerns—the blending of principle and practice—are what Worship by the Book addresses.Cutting through cultural clichés, D. A. Carson, Mark Ashton, Kent Hughes, and Timothy Keller explore, respectively:· Worship Under the Word· Following in Cranmer’s Footsteps· Free Church Worship: The Challenge of Freedom· Reformed Worship in the Global City “This is not a comprehensive theology of worship,” writes Carson. “Still less is it a sociological analysis of current trends or a minister’s manual chockfull of ‘how to’ instructions.” Rather, this book offers pastors, other congregational leaders, and seminary students a thought-provoking biblical theology of worship, followed by a look at how three very different traditions of churchmanship might move from this theological base to a better understanding of corporate worship. Running the gamut from biblical theology to historical assessment all the way to sample service sheets, Worship by the Book shows how local churches in diverse traditions can foster corporate worship that is God-honoring, Word-revering, heartfelt, and historically and culturally informed.

Private Worship
Author: Nancy Missler
Publisher: King's High Way
ISBN: 9780974517711
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 194
Book Description
Why is worship the single most important thing a Christian can learn to do? How are we to worship the Lord? Only on Sundays? What is it that keeps us from worshipping? How is worship different from praise? What is the connection between worship and joy? How is it possible to restore "the joy of our salvation?" Worship is the single most important thing a Christian can learn to do, because it's the "key" to God's presence and the fullness of joy. Without worship, we'll not be able to enjoy His presence; and without His presence, we'll have no joy; and without joy, we'll have no strength.

War Against the Idols
Author: Carlos M. N. Eire
Publisher: Cambridge University Press
ISBN: 9780521379847
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 340
Book Description
In the second decade of the sixteenth century medieval piety suddenly began to be attacked in some places as 'idolatry', or false religion. Wherever these ideas became accepted, churches were sacked, images smashed and burned, relics destroyed, and the Catholic Mass abolished. This study calls attention to the centrality of the idolatry issue for the Reformation. It traces the development of Protestant iconoclastic theology and practice, provides a survey and synthesis of its unfolding from Erasmus through Calvin, and lays a foundation for understanding the Reformed ideology that stood in conflict with Catholicism and Lutheranism. Professor Eire's main thesis is that the argument against 'idolatry' was central to Reformed Protestantism, both in its theological aspect and in its political ramifications, and that it reached its fullest and most enduring expression in Calvinism.

The Crucifixion of the Warrior God
Author: Gregory A. Boyd
Publisher: Fortress Press
ISBN: 1506420761
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 1487
Book Description
A dramatic tension confronts every Christian believer and interpreter of Scripture: on the one hand, we encounter images of God commanding and engaging in horrendous violence: one the other hand, we encounter the non-violent teachings and example of Jesus, whose loving, self-sacrificial death and resurrection is held up as the supreme revelation of God’s character in the New Testament. How do we reconcile the tension between these seemingly disparate depictions? Are they even capable of reconciliation? Throughout Christian history, many different answers have been proposed, ranging from the long-rejected explanation that these contrasting depictions are of two entirely different ‘gods’ to recent social and cultural theories of metaphor and narrative representation. The Crucifixion of the Warrior God takes up this dramatic tension and the range of proposed answers in an epic constructive investigation. Over two volumes, renowned theologian and biblical scholar Gregory A. Boyd argues that we must take seriously the full range of Scripture as inspired, including its violent depictions of God. At the same time, we must take just as seriously the absolute centrality of the crucified and risen Christ as the supreme revelation of God. Developing a theological interpretation of Scripture that he labels a “cruciform hermeneutic,” Boyd demonstrates how Scripture’s violent images of God are completely reframed and their violence subverted when they are interpreted through the lens of the cross and resurrection. Indeed, when read through this lens, Boyd argues that these violent depictions can be shown to bear witness to the same self-sacrificial character of God that was supremely revealed on the cross.
