THEY TOOK HIS LOVE. THEY TOOK HIS VOICE. HELL TAKE THEIR LIVES. Before he became a vigilante assassin, a legend feared by criminals, Silence Jones's previous life was stolen from him in one night, his fiance murdered, his throat crushed, and his face destroyed. His brutal revenge leaves behind a long trail of mangled bodies, which captures the attention of a covert group hidden in plain sight within U.S. government. The organization makes Silence an irresistible offer: if he joins their ranks as an assassin, they'll lend their full support to his blood-soaked rampage. But when Silence discovers that the people who killed his fiance have much bigger plans in mind, plans with deadly implications for national security, his mission suddenly shifts focus from vengeance to duty. A catastrophe is ready to explode, and the only person who can stop it is an untested assassin.

Book Description
It has only been a short time since the existence of suppressor cells was demonstrated, yet in this period of time a great deal of information has been compiled concerning their basic science and their functions or disordered functions in human disease. This volume is an tempt to clarify the immune mechanisms through which these cells act, their normal functions, and how their functions are disordered in certain disease states. In this volume some rational approaches are proposed to therapy of diseases perceived at least partially due to disordered immune regulation. Particular focus is on the recently emerging field of soluble suppressor factors as a means of providing adoptive immunotherapy in certain situations. I hope that future work in this field will justify the confidence in this approach.

Book Description
Par-4 is a naturally occurring tumor suppressor. Studies have indicated that overexpression of Par-4 selectively induces apoptosis in cancer cells while leaving normal, health, cells unaffected. Mechanisms contributing to this cancer-selective action of Par-4 have been associated with PKA activation of intracellular Par-4 in cancer cells or GRP78 expression primarily on the surface of cancer cells. On the other hand, endogenous Par-4 sensitizes cells to the action of a broad range of apoptotic inducers acting via the extrinsic and intrinsic pathways. A number of binding partners of Par-4 have been identified and shown to regulate Par-4 function in cancer and other diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and major depression. Recent studies have recognized a number of natural products, dietary supplements, synthetic molecules and FDA-approved drugs that induce the secretion of Par-4 protein to cause apoptosis in primary or metastatic tumors, one of which is in clinical trials. More than 50 different laboratories worldwide are involved in Par-4 based research of this unique protein that has progressed from the bench to clinical trials. This second, companion volume will provide a comprehensive overview of Par-4’s role in cancer and other diseases. Chapters are written by leading researchers, and will be useful for a broad audience across the scientific community, particularly students and trainees, who are the next generation of scientists and clinicians to participate in new studies and discoveries on Par-4.

Book Description
Using a fluid to cool and contract exhaust gases from a firearm is one of the most effective ways to silence the report. For some reason, this principle has been neglected -or simply overlooked -by the ordnance community. For this reason, it may well be the new frontier for research in the field of firearm suppression. In The Art and Science of Wet Silencers, Klaus Rompanen explains why wet silencers work, how they are made, and why they are such a good idea. He provides a brief explanation of the physical laws governing sound suppression, an overview of the legalities of owning silencers, a history of firearms suppressors, an examination of commercial wet silencers, and anecdotes from his experience firing suppressed firearms. Most important, he does so in plain English so the layman can easily follow along. This informative manual will appeal to anyone interested in the state of the art of firearm silencer technology.
