Book Description
This book introduces the reader to a clear and consistent method for in-depth exploration of subjective psychopathological experiences with the aim of helping to restore the ability within psychiatry and clinical psychology to draw qualitative distinctions between mental symptoms that are only apparently similar, thereby promoting a more precise characterization of experiential phenotypes. A wide range of mental disorders are considered in the book, each portrayed by a distinguished clinician. Each chapter begins with the description of a paradigmatic case study in order to introduce the reader directly to the patient’s lived world. The first-person perspective of the patient is the principal focus of attention. The essential, defining features of each psychopathological phenomenon and the meaning that the patient attaches to it are carefully analyzed in order to “make sense” of the patient’s apparently nonsensical experiences. In the second part of each chapter, the case study is discussed within the context of relevant literature and a detailed picture of the state of the art concerning the psychopathological understanding of the phenomenon at issue is provided. An Experiential Approach to Psychopathology, and the method it proposes, may be considered the result of convergence of classic phenomenological psychopathological concepts and updated clinical insights into patients’ lived experiences. It endorses three key principles: subjective phenomena are the quintessential feature of mental disorders; their qualitative study is mandatory; phenomenology has developed a rigorous method to grasp “what it is like” to be a person experiencing psychopathological phenomena. While the book is highly relevant for expert clinical phenomenologists, it is written in a way that will be readily understandable for trainees and young clinicians.

Book Description
Volume VII of the Cambridge History of American Literature examines a broad range of American literature of the past half-century, revealing complex relations to changes in society. Christopher Bigsby discusses American dramatists from Tennessee Williams to August Wilson, showing how innovations in theatre anticipated a world of emerging countercultures and provided America with an alternative view of contemporary life. Morris Dickstein describes the condition of rebellion in fiction from 1940 to 1970, linking writers as diverse as James Baldwin and John Updike. John Burt examines writers of the American South, describing the tensions between modernization and continued entanglements with the past. Wendy Steiner examines the postmodern fictions since 1970, and shows how the questioning of artistic assumptions has broadened the canon of American literature. Finally, Cyrus Patell highlights the voices of Native American, Asian American, Chicano, gay and lesbian writers, often marginalized but here discussed within and against a broad set of national traditions.

Book Description
Emotions are like animals: No two are quite the same. Some are quiet; some are fierce; And all are hard to tame. An Emotional Menagerie is an emotional glossary for children. A book of 26 rhyming poems, arranged alphabetically, that bring our feelings to life – Anger, Boredom, Curiosity, Dreaminess, Embarrassment, Fear, Guilt, and more. The poems transform each emotion into a different animal to provide a clear and engaging illustration of its character: how it arises; how it makes us behave and how we can learn to manage its effects. Boasting a rich vocabulary, the poems also give children a wide variety of options for describing their feelings to others. Children experience all sorts of emotions: sometimes going through several very different ones before breakfast. Yet they can struggle to put these feelings into words. An inability to understand and communicate their moods can lead to bad behaviour, deep frustration and a whole host of difficulties further down the line. Like adults, they need help to recognise and verbalise their inner state. The greater their emotional vocabulary, the more likely they are to grow into happy, healthy and fulfilled adults. Filled with wise, therapeutic advice, brought to life through musical language and beautiful illustrations, An Emotional Menagerie is an imaginative and universally appealing way of increasing emotional literacy.

Book Description
Erotic BDSM Romance. Claire Lawrence is a successful advertising executive who's having a kinky affair with her boss, Tate. When the two get caught, Claire's out of a job and her entire career is seriously threatened by Tate's vengeful wife. In the wake of her humiliating dismissal, she reluctantly agrees to a first face-to-face encounter with an internet acquaintance: 'MasterInDisguise'. He's authored dozens of sizzling sex stories she's posted to her erotic website. For the past year, the two have emailed back and forth about everything from BDSM sex to kinky fantasies to their mutual passion for writing. Claire arrives for her date, nervous, late, and is immediately shocked to learn that MasterInDisguise is actually Patrick Helms, the well-known author of suspense novels, with a high public profile and a matinee idol face. He's charming, witty and displays an uncanny ability to know her inner thoughts, even before she understands them herself-after all he's read all her kinky stories. Patrick could be all she's ever wanted in a Dominant. However, there's a huge portion of her life that Claire has never disclosed-including the dangerous boyfriend who, ten years before, introduced the barely legal Claire to S&M and his shady lifestyle. Though she's determined to keep these facts a secret, when she's chronically late for their dates, Patrick suspects she's trying to sabotage the relationship. The explosive confrontation that ensues ends with her standing in the corner like a punished child-her ass blistered red and her sexual arousal sky high. Once Patrick establishes his domination over her, the star-crossed Claire cannot help but surrender to this sexy Dom. As their relationship heats up, she submits to him in public places, before his friends, in back alleys, wherever he demands her compliance. Though she may shudder with humiliation, with every act of submission, Claire fulfills another of her darkest fantasies. If only she could keep her past a secret. However, in her attempts to hide the truth, she leaves a trail of clues that will lead the perceptive Patrick to the very thing she fears the most. A BDSM romance featuring Dominance and submission, bondage, punishment, slave training and much more!
