It's very fashionable nowadays to assert that Christianity and science are antithetical, or that God has been ruled out of science or disproven (particularly by Darwinian evolution), or that science is based on reason and evidence, whereas religion (being faith-based) supposedly cares little or nothing for same, or that one cannot consistently be a Christian and also a real scientist.
