Mccleery. Rev. Dr. Johnson, of New Castle, Rev. Mr. Stone, of Harrisburg, Revs. Zahniser, Wylie, Kerr, Meade, Greer, and Stockton, of Mercer, Hon. J. W. Russell, 'squire Farrell and B. J. Haywood, of West Middlesex, members of the G. A. R. Posts at New Vernon, Fredonia, West Middlesex and Mercer, and alarge number of other citizens, were present during the examinations and manifested a deep interest in all that was done. The forenoon was taken up in oral examinations, in which the pupils made a very satisfactory showing. In all branches in which they were examined their ready and accurate answers showed thorough teaching and study.
