Book Description
The Pennsylvania Impressionists is the first book to focus on the Pennsylvania School of Landscape Painting. Starting in 1898, a group of Impressionist painters began to settle on the outskirts of New Hope, Pennsylvania. Although largely forgotten by the 1950s, these artist comprised a major school of landscape painting. Today, considerable interest has been generated by this school. The leading figure in this group, Edward Redfield, was noted for his large, broadly and vigorously painted snow scenes, which he completed at "one go" or in a single afternoon. He developed a major reputation in American art, and was awarded more honors and prizes than any other American artist, with the exception of John Singer Sargent.

Book Description
For more than a century, a Gilded Age mansion on the south side of New York City's Gramercy Park has been home to the National Arts Club (NAC), its magnificent interior a refuge from hectic city life. In this special catalog, Lowrey, curator of the club's permanent collection, documents selected works by Artist Life Members, artists who were given lifetime memberships in the club in exchange for one of their works (the program ended in 1950 with the advent of the abstract expressionists). The father of well-known American sculptor Alexander Calder, Alexander Stirling Calder, was an Artist Life Member, and his sculpture of the painter George Bellows is among the many artworks included here. Also featured are an A-to-Z listing of Artist Life Members and a brief history of the NAC. The catalog section includes full-color reproductions and descriptions of the artworks as well as brief biographies of the artist. Many members' works show European influences, particularly impressionism and the Barbizon school, while others are distinctly American, as in the Ash Can school. A fine and fitting tribute to the NAC legacy that will be of interest to club, academic, and large public libraries. 75 colour & 175 b/w illustrations

Book Description
Gifted to Saint Vincent College in 2022, the Michael and Aimee Rusinko Kakos Collection points to an intergenerational, transnational network of artists who built upon the learnings of Impressionism. Through a constellation of friendships, parent-child relationships, marriages, professional associations and academic connections, artists shared ideas, techniques and inspirations that supported the development of their work. While these individuals engaged the same themes, subjects and methods of working as their more famous counterparts, their names aren't conjured within common imagination. Impressionist Legacies is a full color catalog featuring 88 works rarely seen by the public in decades.
