A Short and Happy Guide to the Rule
Author: Donald Gjerdingen
Publisher: West Academic Publishing
ISBN: 9781647085148
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 244
Book Description
Most students view the Rule against Perpetuities as the most difficult rule in law school. Moreover, the Rule is still covered on MBE for Property and MEE for Wills and Trusts and yet few student-centered resources exist. The Little Book on Perpetuities fills this gap. An ideal subject for self-study, this guide covers all key parts of the Rule, including problems for self-testing. It presents the Rule in its historical context but in a fun, engaging, and accessible way that is simple and clear for students to use. It can be used for Property classes, as well as Wills & Trusts and can supplement a casebook or be used as a separate, self-continued unit. Coverage includes: the common-law Rule and all the famous classics traps; modern statutory reforms, including the new generations-based rule by the Restatement Third of Property; recent efforts by some states to abolish the Rule; and the history and policies of the Rule.

The Rule Against Perpetuities (Classic Reprint)
Author: John Chipman Gray
Publisher: Forgotten Books
ISBN: 9780483301795
Category : Law
Languages : en
Pages : 758
Book Description
Excerpt from The Rule Against Perpetuities Although only eight years have passed since the publica tion of the second edition, about three hundred and eighty new cases on the Rule against Perpetuities (not including those in New York) have been decided during that time, many of them of considerable interest; and my views have altered or developed on several points. Notwithstanding an increase in the average contents of a page, there has been a material addition to the number of pages of the text and of the Appendix. If this had been the first edition of this work, I should un doubtedly have adopted a more consecutive and compact ar rangement in several respects than it now exhibits. It has seemed to me, however, to be advantageous to the reader to retain in the present edition a form which shows the develop ment not only of the law but of the author's views during a period of twenty-eight years. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in our edition. We do, however, repair the vast majority of imperfections successfully; any imperfections that remain are intentionally left to preserve the state of such historical works.
