Sam was born of a male coyote and female golden retriever, and as soon as possible, was dropped off at a local shelter. The puppy mill had no use for him and treated him accordingly. He had no sense of belonging, and for the first 18 months of his life, Sam was shuttled between different owners and the shelter.
