As they compiled their decades of research, they made discoveries that led them to not only to Henry T.'s ancestors, but also untangled some of the conflated Richard and John Kirklands. The narrative details the branch of the Kirkland family who settled in the Bulloch/Emanuel county area in the 1780s and links them to ancestors who migrated from Virginia through the Carolinas and into Georgia. Of interest to local and regional family history buffs, is the compilation of lineage information, as well as brief descriptions of the American Revolution and American Civil War and the effects and influences of those wars on this family. Readers will also find information about Kirklands who were connected to other notable figures in Bulloch County, through their membership in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church.
