Book Description
They say a hero is forged in the fires of conflict... I hope they're right. It's hotter than Hell in the desert of the Silent Sands, and I don't just mean the climate. With djinn, fire demons, and a band of nocturnal assassins on my tail, there's no rest for the weary or the wicked. Legend says there is an artifact of unfathomable power hidden within the labyrinth in the heart of this desert, and I'll stop at nothing to claim it for myself. But I'm not the only one who knows about it. Drakkus, Lord of Chaos, has his eye on the prize, too. And unless I can get there first, the Empire of the Five Realms will be plunged into darkness and chaos. Forever. With the help of my band of warrior women, and the magic growing within me, I intend to take the Lord of Chaos head-on. Our path is fraught with danger, the stakes are higher than they've ever been, and there's only one thing I know for sure... Failure is not an option. This is fiction with the male reader in mind. That means you'll get heroic battles between good and evil, lots of beautiful and powerful women, and a badass MC who slays on the battlefield and between the sheets.

Book Description
From 1985 to 2001, the collaborative research initiative known as the Bannu Archaeological Project conducted archaeological explorations and excavations in the Bannu region, in what was then the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan, now Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. This Project involves scholars from the Pakistan Heritage Society, the British Museum, the Institute of Archaeology (UCL), Bryn Mawr College and the University of Cambridge. This is the third in a series of volumes that present the final reports of the exploration and excavations carried out by the Bannu Archaeological Project. This volume presents the first synthesis of the archaeology of the historic periods in the Bannu region, spanning the period when the first large scale empires expanded to the borders of South Asia up until the arrival of Islam in the subcontinent at the end of the first and beginning of the second millennium BC. The Bannu region provides specific insight into early imperialism in South Asia, as throughout this protracted period, it was able to maintain a distinctive regional identity in the face of recurring phases of imperial expansion and integration.

Book Description
They said it would be a great war to end all wars. To create peace between the Elemental Empires: Fire, Water and Earth. As one war ended, another started. The gods came back with a vengeance because peace was never meant to be an option. Now, the lands of Zephryine are cracking, the ocean is a living plague, and crops have become nothing more than skeletons. To Althea Viteri, the destruction of the realm is the only way to set her family free from the clutches of Audor, the Empire of Fire. Her family has nowhere to run. Not with the bands marking their wrists as the chattel of the Empire. But she harbors a secret written on her skin - a power that she's successfully hidden for twenty-three years, until one day it unleashes itself, catching the eye of King Cyrus. Taken prisoner in the palace and with the constant threat that the people she loves will be slaughtered, her only option is to escape. Yet the longer she's a prisoner the more she realizes there may be more to her untamed power than she initially thought. Something that makes her a danger not only to herself, but to the world.

Book Description
The Matter of Empire examines the philosophical principles invoked by apologists of the Spanish empire that laid the foundations for the material exploitation of the Andean region between 1520 and 1640. Centered on Potosi, Bolivia, Orlando Bentancor's original study ties the colonizers' attempts to justify the abuses wrought upon the environment and the indigenous population to their larger ideology concerning mining, science, and the empire's rightful place in the global sphere. Bentancor points to the underlying principles of Scholasticism, particularly in the work off Thomas Aquinas, as the basis of the instrumentalist conception of matter and enslavement, despite the inherent contradictions to moral principles. Bentancor grounds this metaphysical framework in a close reading of sixteenth-century debates on Spanish sovereignty in the Americas and treatises on natural history and mining by theologians, humanists, missionaries, mine owners, jurists, and colonial officials. To Bentancor, their presuppositions were a major turning point for colonial expansion and paved the way to global mercantilism.
