Book Description
Death Jr, or DJ for short, was not your typical young adult. He was the son of the Grim Reaper and had inherited his father's powers. But that didn't stop him from being a fun-loving guy who enjoyed spending time with his friends. DJ met a girl named Claire who lived down the hall, and he fell in love with her. Unfortunately, she was in an abusive relationship with Dan, a biker who was involved in all sorts of shady dealings, including Devil worship. Dan planned to sacrifice Claire to the Devil to gain power and unleash hell on earth. DJ knew he had to act fast to save Claire and the world by stopping Dan's plan from coming to fruition. With the help of his father, the Grim Reaper himself, and some quirky friends, DJ set out on a mission to save Claire and the world. Finding out the details of Dan's plans, they developed a strategy to stop him and trained for the battle ahead. As the day of the sacrifice drew near, DJ and his crew sprang into action, fighting off Dan's henchmen and dodging his traps. In the end, will DJ's quick thinking and bravery save the day? Can he succeed in saving Claire and the world by stopping Dan from completing the ritual and unleashing Hell on earth?

Varney the Vampire (Vol.1-3)
Author: Thomas Peckett Prest
Publisher: DigiCat
ISBN:
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 1696
Book Description
Varney the Vampire; or, the Feast of Blood is a Victorian era serialized gothic horror story variously attributed to James Malcolm Rymer and Thomas PeckettPrest. It first appeared in 1845–1847 as a series of weekly cheap pamphlets of the kind then known as "penny dreadfuls". The author was paid by the typeset line, so when the story was published in book form in 1847, it was of epic length: the original edition ran to 876 double-columned pages and 232 chapters. Altogether it totals nearly 667,000 words. It is the tale of the vampire Sir Francis Varney, and introduced many of the tropes present in vampire fiction recognizable to modern audiences. It was the first story to refer to sharpened teeth for a vampire, noting "With a plunge he seizes her neck in his fang-like teeth." While ostensibly set in the early eighteenth century, there are references to the Napoleonic Wars and other indicators that the story is contemporary to the time of its writing in the mid-nineteenth century. Varney's adventures also occur in various locations including London, Bath, Winchester, Naples and Venice. Scholars like A. AsbjørnJøn have noted that Varney was a major influence on later vampire fiction, including the renowned novel Dracula (1897) by Bram Stoker.
