Book Description
Roger Williams stumbles through adolescence with the aid of a few friends and his love for the automobile. At the end of college he hits the road to the West Coast in a rolled and tucked, convertible Pontiac, along route 66, over the Sierras to Berkeley for graduate school in 1963. At Berkeley he meets Ginny Wyant a Phi Beta Kappa from Boston University. In the explosive environment of Berkeley in the 60s Roger and Ginny fall in love and move in together. In revolutionary times Roger and Ginny decide to drop out and join the gypsy life. Roger becomes a shade-tree mechanic for artists, musicians, and drug dealers. The parties, the concerts, the riots, the drugs, and the attempts to create a sustainable life outside the mad house of the Vietnam War culture that Roger and Ginny participate in are legendary. After a few years Ginny decides to return to school and complete her PhD in psychology. In 1970 Roger and Ginny have a daughter. The family sustains them through the brutal 70s. By the end of the seventies the war is over, the movement for social change is dead, and the move the to the political right begins. Roger and Ginny move into the next revolution in Silicon Valley. Ginny, who has gotten her degree, gets a job at a psychiatric ward. Roger and Ginny change gender roles. Roger becomes the President of the Mother's Club, rebuilds the house they have been able to buy, and has time to sum up the utopian 60s.

Book Description
"Luqman's commitment to his dreams and ideals are intense and boldly honest. His focus is on his search and discovery of universal truth. Here, he offers a glimpse into the reality that all answers come from within; and each man (person) must connect to his or her own spirit in honesty and with an open mind in order to hear them. Hollywood is a fantasy that, if we allow it, can distract from the great creative medium that is within all of us to build for ourselves. In the footsteps of Luqman, (moving in his own footsteps, as with each of us) lies even greater hope and truth." Marla Gibbs Actress, Community Activist, and friend to generations as Florence on The Jeffersons, Mary on 227, and D. L. Hughley's mother on The Hughley's.

Book Description
Mike was member of a series of local groups before declaring himself ready to go out on the road. But lying low in southern Olklahoma didn't yield any big gigs, until suddenly, oppurtunity knocked. With no rehearsals and very little understanding of what he was getting himself into, he took off with what his mother called "a Negro band headed for parts unknown," a seasoned blues outfit from Chicago called Salt & Pepper. (The band's white drummer had run off to Texas, and.

Book Description
ADDICTED TO ALTITUDE A generation ago Jack O’Connor, “dean of outdoor writers,” taught us that mountain hunting was a special pursuit, a form of hunting that took us to the high, wild places in search of some of the world’s most beautiful and elusive game. Today Mark Hampton follows his teaching and takes us to new heights in pursuit of wild sheep and goats amidst the world’s highest mountains and most magnificent scenery. You will travel with him to the world’s legendary ranges: Hindu Kush, Himalayas, Caucasus, Alps, Tien Shan, Altai, and more...from the burning Red Sea Hills of Sudan to the precipitous Southern Alps of New Zealand...and of course to our own Rocky Mountains, Cassiars, Alaska Range, and the harsh desert mountains of the American Southwest. Mark Hampton, career educator, former Missouri State Representative, All-American trapshooter, longtime hunting guide, and legendary handgun hunter, takes you along on what evolved as his greatest passion: High-country hunting for the wild sheep and goats of the world. From the diminutive chamois to the mighty argali, from desert bighorn to Rocky Mountain goat, you will feel your lungs burn as you climb the high ridges and feel your heart race as you make the final stalk. Addicted to Altitude will earn its place in the annals of hunting literature...and will validate for a new generation the special feeling of climbing the heights for the great game to be found.

Book Description
Moving to America turns H&à's life inside out. For all the 10 years of her life, H&à has only known Saigon: the thrills of its markets, the joy of its traditions, the warmth of her friends close by, and the beauty of her very own papaya tree. But now the Vietnam War has reached her home. H&à and her family are forced to flee as Saigon falls, and they board a ship headed toward hope. In America, H&à discovers the foreign world of Alabama: the coldness of its strangers, the dullness of its food, the strange shape of its landscape, and the strength of her very own family. This is the moving story of one girl's year of change, dreams, grief, and healing as she journeys from one country to another, one life to the next.
