He received his education in various colleges in the South and was graduated from the Medical Department of Vanderbilt University in 1877. He also continued his medical studies in New York, Edinburgh and in London. Immediately after his graduation from Yanderbill University he went to China as a medical missionary and remained in that service until 1880: then for five years following he was superintendent of the Japan Mission of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. After that he returned to America and became Eield Secretary and later General Secretary of the Board of Missions of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. In 1010 he was elected a Bishop. Bishop Lambuth' activities were distributed over various fields and were always of a capital character. He was the founder, and for some years was in charge of the hospital at Soochow, China. He was also connected with the hospital of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Peking for two years. He founded the Kwansei Gakuin College of Japan. He was one of the group of six commissioners representing the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and the Methodist Church of Canada, through whose constructive efforts the Japan Methodist Church, composed of these three constituent bodies, came into existence. The old church on the same site was built just fifty years ago; its predecessor was the historic "Brick Chapel," dating from 1833. Asbcry ChuRch, WooDSTOWN, N. J.--The Rev. E. Conner Hulse, pastor, has been assisted in revival meetings by the Rev. J. H. Weber, an evangelist, who moved the whole town by his fearless attacks upon sin and his clear presentation of the gospel. Fifty conversions have thus far been numbered, besides many revived, and the services are continued by the pastor, with continued interest and conversions. Concrete walks are being laid in front of the church property, and brownstone steps to the church. The exterior of the building is being entirely painted. The money for this work was provided for by the ladies of the church. The pastor, who is closing his third year, and the entire membership give thanks to God for these wonderful blessings. North Yakima, Wash.--One of the handsomest churches in the Northwest was dedicated Nov. 20, Bishop Moore preaching the sermon. A collection of $0,000 was raised for the building fund. The cost, including the organ, was $28,000. The Rev. Watson Skipworth, presiding elder; President Coleman, of Willamette I'niversity; and Dr. D. L. Rader, of the Pacific Christian Advocate, were helpful participants in the service. The Rev. A. H. Henry, the pastor, with the hearty cooperation of his Board of Trustees and a corps of united people, has completed an edifice which will long remain a monument to the enterprise and devotion of the Methodists of the Northwest.
