There are two to a topmast studdingsail, a long and a short one, formed out of one piece of rope by being rove through the clew of the sail and seized. A topgallant studdingsail has only one sheet. Q. What gear do you haul on in setting a lower, topmast, or topgallant studdingsail? A. Halyards, tacks, and sheets. Q.
