Book Description
The book titled “The Basic Anatomy of Angiosperms” provides a great resource for learning about the fundamental anatomy and features of blooming plants. This book explores the complex anatomy of angiosperms, explaining how many organs and tissues contribute to the plants’ capacity for survival and procreation. The book describes the key parts of angiosperm plants, such as the stems, roots, flowers, leaves, reproductive organs, and fruits. It explains how these parts work and have evolved to do certain tasks, including as absorbing nutrients, producing energy via photosynthesis, moving water throughout the plant, and reproducing. Readers will get an understanding of the plant’s ability to anchor it while taking in nutrients at the root level, the stem’s position as a support structure and the vascular tissues’ transport function, and the leaves’ importance as the principal sites of photosynthesis. The book also delves into flowers’ roles in the reproductive process, explaining how sepals, petals, stamens, as well as pistils all play a part. The book focuses mostly on the various shapes and sizes of fruits, how they grow from the ovaries after fertilization, and their function in the life cycle of a plant as a means of seed preservation and distribution. The book’s goal is to provide readers a solid grounding in the anatomy of angiosperms, with a special focus on the role that anatomy plays in ecological settings, plant changes, and the continued existence and spread of these remarkable plants. It’s perfect for budding botanists, aspiring researchers, and curious laypeople who want to learn more about the inner workings of blooming plants.

Book Description
The Archaeology Hotspots series offers reader-friendly and engaging narratives of the archaeology in particular countries. Written by archaeological experts with a general reader in mind, each book in the series focuses on what has been found and by whom, what the controversies and scandals have been, ongoing projects, and how it all fits into a broader view of the history of the country. In Archaeology Hotspot Egypt, scholar Julian Heath provides a chronological overview beginning with handaxes left by Homo erectus during the Lower Paleolithic and moving onwards through pharaonic Egypt to finish in the Greco-Roman period. He covers the most interesting finds—including Tutankhamen’s tomb and the Rosetta Stone—and profiles major personalities, past and present. Current digs and recent insights on the past are also covered, such as the massive tomb of KV5 and how contemporary scientific techniques are unearthing new information about ancient Egyptian people and animals. The result is an illuminating look at the history, culture, national heritage, and current archaeological news of Egypt—a hotspot of archaeology.

Book Description
This edited review book on Godunov methods contains 97 articles, all of which were presented at the international conference on Godunov Methods: Theory and Applications, held at Oxford, in October 1999, to commemorate the 70th birthday of the Russian mathematician Sergei K. Godunov. The central theme of this book is numerical methods for hyperbolic conservation laws following Godunov's key ideas contained in his celebrated paper of 1959. Hyperbolic conservation laws play a central role in mathematical modelling in several distinct disciplines of science and technology. Application areas include compressible, single (and multiple) fluid dynamics, shock waves, meteorology, elasticity, magnetohydrodynamics, relativity, and many others. The successes in the design and application of new and improved numerical methods of the Godunov type for hyperbolic conservation laws in the last twenty years have made a dramatic impact in these application areas. The 97 papers cover a very wide range of topics, such as design and analysis of numerical schemes, applications to compressible and incompressible fluid dynamics, multi-phase flows, combustion problems, astrophysics, environmental fluid dynamics, and detonation waves. This book will be a reference book on the subject of numerical methods for hyperbolic partial differential equations for many years to come. All contributions are self-contained but do contain a review element. There is a key paper by Peter Sweby in which a general overview of Godunov methods is given. This contribution is particularly suitable for beginners on the subject. This book is unique: it contains virtually everything concerned with Godunov-type methods for conservation laws. As such it will be of particular interest to academics (applied mathematicians, numerical analysts, engineers, environmental scientists, physicists, and astrophysicists) involved in research on numerical methods for partial differential equations; scientists and engineers concerned with new numerical methods and applications to scientific and engineering problems e.g., mechanical engineers, aeronautical engineers, meteorologists; and academics involved in teaching numerical methods for partial differential equations at the postgraduate level.

Book Description
The theme for the 2019 conference is Novel Computing Architectures. Papers will include discussions on the advent of Artificial Intelligence and the promise of quantum computing that are driving disruptive computing architectures; Neuromorphic chip designs on one hand, and Quantum Bits on the other, still in R&D, will introduce new computing circuitry and memory elements, novel materials, and different test methodologies. These novel computing architectures will require further innovation which is best achieved through a collaborative Failure Analysis community composed of chip manufacturers, tool vendors, and universities.

Book Description
Of the many challenges that society faces today, possibly none is more acute than the security of ordinary citizens when faced with a variety of natural or man-made disasters arising from climate and geological catastrophes, including the depletion of natural resources, environmental degradation, food shortages, terrorism, breaches of personal security and human security, or even the global economic crisis. States continue to be faced with a range of security issues arising from contested territorial spaces, military and maritime security and security threats relating to energy, infrastructure and the delivery of essential services. The theme of the book encompasses issues of human, political, military, socio-economic, environmental and energy security and raises two main questions. To what extent can international law address the types of natural and man-made security risks and challenges that threaten our livelihood, or very existence, in the twenty-first century? Where does international law fall short in meeting the problems that arise in different situations of insecurity and how should such shortcomings be addressed?

Echinoderms are an ancient and diverse group of marine animals with a rich fossil record. They occur abundantly in all modern oceans and at all depths, where they contribute importantly to patterns in biodiversity and to the structure and functioning of marine systems. It is therefore vital to understand how they will respond to a rapidly cha
