A fourth part of the kingdom is Huguenot, wrote l'hopital to the Pope the nuncio Prosper de St. Croix went farther, and said, one half. Hitherto worship had only been celebrated in secret, often during the night, in woods and remote places; but from the year 1560, it began to be solemnized in public.
