May this book be of greatest value to those who take it in hand as an aid and inspiration for establishing a just and illuminated civilization in the present age, AMEEN. A few thousand words could never produce the depth of the lifetime of even one of these noble and greatest personalities let alone more than one. However, the dire need for English speaking Muslims to have some access to these illustrious beings free from Salafi, Shi'a, Ohabi, Tablighi, Jamaate and so‐called Sunni propaganda. (Note: in contrast the shi'a and Sunni are the family and companions of Ahlul‐Bayt as long as they remain on adherence to their command and example.) May Allah give them proper knowledge to understand the status Ahlul-Bayt. A Muslim means The one who Surrenders to Almighty God. The Concept of surrendering to Oneness of God had been around since The Prophet Abraham, the Descendants of Prophet Abraham are the Crowned creations of Almighty God Jews, Christians and Muslims are cousin brothers, in accordance of Holy Quran. Modern historians associate the collapse of the Caliphate with the elimination of the Ottoman Empire in 1928, followed by the systematic fragmentation and division of Ottoman Empire after WW1. Therefore, many pains have been undertaken to show in the following pages how tyranny and oppression destroyed the caliphate of Islam in Karbala, over more than 1,300 yrs. Ago, with the martyrdom of Abu Ahrar (Father of freedom) H. Hussain ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) in 63 AH. / 680 C.E. Then continued to oppress key moral figures and their families, who though their swords were in the sheaths, their words and deeds made every immoral things outlawed just as Nabi Mohammad (SM) did in Medina. Before the caliphate of the 'Uthman b. 'Affan, the Muslim community had grown from strength to strength in spite of a series of major crises--the Hirah, the death of the Prophet, the Riddah wars, the assassination of 'Umar by a Persian slave. But 'Uthman's reign ended in catastrophe. His inability to manage the social and political conflicts that were now emerging among various factions within the community led to his death at the hands of Muslim rebels. The consequences of this tragic event were bitter: not only a century of civil war, but also political and religious schisms of such depth that they have not been entirely healed even now. Most medieval Muslim historians told this story in an overtly partisan manner, but al-Tabari demands more of his readers. First of all, they must decide for themselves, on the basis of highly ambigous evidence, whether 'Uthman's death was tyrannicide or murder. But, more than that, they must ask how such a thing could have happened at all; what had the Muslims done to bring about the near-destruction of their community? Al-Tabari presents this challenge within a broad framework. For, even while the internal crisis that issued in 'Uthman's death was coming to a head, the wars against Byzantium and Persia continued. The first expeditions into North Africa, the conquest of Cyprus, the momentary destruction of the Byzantine fleet at the Battle of the Masts, the bloody campaigns in Armenia, the Caucasus, and Khurasan are all here, in narratives that shift constantly between hard reporting and pious legend. Muslim forces retain the offensive, but there are no more easy victories; henceforth, suffering and endurance will be the hallmarks of the hero. Shí‘ism or Shí‘a Islam is the second largest sect of the Muslim world. The central theme of Shí‘a theology is the position, rights, and qualities that the Imams of Ahlul Bayt possess. Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi starts with a brief discussion on the origin of the Shí‘a Islamic faith, and whether it was political in nature or religious. In Chapter II, he surveys the seIf-censorship exercised by Muslim historians at early as well as modern eras, and how events related to Shí‘ism were suppressed in order to appease the rulers. Chapter III expounds on how the Orientalists have dealt with the Ghadír Khumm event: either it is ignored or if quoted, then interpreted to safeguard the interest of the majority Muslims. S.M. Rizvi also discusses the literal and contextual meaning of “mawla" which has great bearing on the issue of Imãmat and khilãfat of ‘Ali bin Abí Tãlib. Chapter IV, he surveys the current dispute on the explicitness versus implicitness of ‘Ali’s appointment to the position of imãmate and Khãlifat. This is followed by a chapter on the concept of ‘Ahlul Bayt’ in the Qur’ãn and the sunnah. Chapter VI deals with the wilãyat, the position and authority of the Imam, and its scope from the Qur’ãnic point of view. The treatise ends with a discussion on the esoteric knowledge that the Prophets and the Imams possess and its relevance to their personal life.
