Book Description
Originally published in 1986, this book was written for undergraduates who had completed an introductory course in psychology, and aimed to acquaint the student with the core of recent experimental findings and theoretical ideas concerning human memory. Each chapter deals with a specific area of memory research but care is taken to build on what has been covered in preceding chapters, so providing an integrated treatment of the subject. Thus, the book can comfortably be read from cover to cover, or selected issues can be referred to in isolation. Important features of the book include discussion of fundamental issues about the nature of the scientific process, the role of models and theories in it, and the historical development of models of human memory. Also, the treatment of ‘Forgetting’ includes chapters on motivational aspects (psychopathological forgetting, post-hypnotic amnesia, and directed forgetting), and organic amnesia.

Book Description
Advanced memory technologies are impacting the information era, representing a vibrant research area of huge interest in the electronics industry. The demand for data storage, computing performance and energy efficiency is increasing exponentially and will exceed the capabilities of current information technologies. Alternatives to traditional silicon technology and novel memory principles are expected to meet the need of modern data-intensive applications such as “big data” and artificial intelligence (AI). Functional materials or methodologies may find a key role in building novel, high speed and low power consumption computing and data storage systems. This book covers functional materials and devices in the data storage areas, alongside electronic devices with new possibilities for future computing, from neuromorphic next generation AI to in-memory computing. Summarizing different memory materials and devices to emphasize the future applications, graduate students and researchers can systematically learn and understand the design, materials characteristics, device operation principles, specialized device applications and mechanisms of the latest reported memory materials and devices.

Book Description
First published in 1973. This book proposes and tests a theory about human memory, about how a person encodes, retains, and retrieves information from memory. The book is especially concerned with memory for sentential materials. We propose a theoretical framework which is adequate for describing comprehension of linguistic materials, for exhibiting the internal representation of propositional materials, for characterizing the interpretative processes which encode this information into memory and make use of it for remembering, for answering questions, recognizing instances of known categories, drawing inferences, and making deductions.

Book Description
This brief edition contains two major parts. The first is the historical analysis of associationism and its countertraditions, which still provides the framework used to relate current research to an important intellectual tradition. The second part of the book reproduces the major components of the HAM theory. In our view, the major contribution of that theory was the propositional network analyses of memory and the placement of those representational assumptions into an information-processing framework. This book is smaller than the previous book on HAM thanks to a re-evaluation of certain sections which have been deleted--some due to out of date information, some because the analyses presented have been replaced by better ones. This book makes the more important points of the original HAM book available at a more economical price. - from the preface.
