Abner Woodall was born April 25, 1798 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Sarah "Sallie" Baugh was born in 1791 in Virginia. They were married February 20, 1819 in Putnam County, Georgia. The 7th, 8th, 9th, and 11th Georgia volunteer infantry regiments spent most of the Civil War fighting under Brig. Gen. George Thomas “Tige” Anderson in Gen. Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia.
