Book Description
How can artists (and others) who find themselves in positions of privilege think differently about the way they do what they do in order to create the conditions for better, more just relations to flourish? Finding an answer to that question is at the heart of this book. After critiquing the relationship between contemporary art, race and privilege the author brings together First Nation and feminist philosophies of relationality, the game of string figuring, and her own history as an artist to propose an alternate methodology that puts relation at the centre of practice. She introduces the multivalent concept of “tacking”—a movement at an oblique angle to prevailing winds—in order to traverse the waters of contemporary art to challenge power and create a more just future.

Book Description
COMBAT HUNTER TRAINER COURSE Purpose: The purpose of the Combat Hunter Trainer Course is to produce a Marine capable of training a more ethically minded, tactically cunning, and situational aware Marine capable of proactively identifying threats in any environment. Scope: The Combat Hunter Trainer Course enhances the safety and security of Marines across the range of military operations, whether in garrison, on liberty, or on the battlefield. Marines are trained to observe and recognize human behaviors, patterns and trends that are indicative of a threat and to act on that threat quickly and decisively through an improved and matured decision-making process. The Marine receives training in planning, conducting, and evaluating training events to include classes on small unit training and unit training management. Combat Hunter training includes Introduction to Combat Hunter, Observation Devices, Criminal and Insurgent Networks, Decision Cycle, Enhanced Observation, KIM Technique, Introduction to Profiling, Heuristics, Profiling Domains, Terrorist Planning Cycle, Tactical Questioning, Analyze and Interpret Spoor, Individual Actions in a Tracking Team, Track Exploitation, Leading a Tracking Team, and Tactical Site Exploitation. DEFINITION AND MISSION OF THE COMBAT HUNTER. A combat hunter selects, uses, and maximizes the appropriate optics available to see objects and events, both hidden and distant. These optics range from the naked eye to advanced optical systems. A combat hunter, through attention to detail, establishes a baseline of an environment and detects the anomalies located within that environment. A combat hunter tracks humans and vehicles by reading the natural terrain. He pursues an armed enemy and gathers data that may suggest the enemy’s action and intent. The combat hunter is the creation of a mindset through the integration of enhanced observation, combat profiling, and combat tracking. This mindset will enable Marines to locate, close with, and destroy an elusive enemy that hides among the population and uses asymmetric tactics to attack our forces. By utilizing enhanced observation, combat profiling, and combat tracking, a Marine is more lethal, survivable, and tactically cunning. He becomes a force multiplier to his unit’s operations. OBSERVATION. Observation begins with the gathering and processing of information obtained through the senses. The five sensory systems are sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste that allow information to be collected from the environment. Perception is the process that the mind uses to organize the sensory information into an understandable interpretation of the environment. Central to all these skills is a critically-thinking Marine whose decisions can be affected by numerous factors, both external and internal. The Marine refines his decision making capabilities by understanding the decision cycle process and his awareness of the physical and biological responses he goes through when faced with a dynamic situation. Refining these skills and understanding the effects they have on his mind and body make him more capable and more lethal.

Book Description
After prolonged course of brainstorming since February 1984 for rendering tangible assistance with the aid of alternate dispute resolution procedure to the aggrieved party / parties exposed to losses and injuries of diverse nature suffered during the course of execution of works / projects under works contract, I feel it apposite to suggest certain procedures to elude contractual disputes to the extent feasible and in the event such disputes are not resolved within a reasonable time compelling the party / parties to invoke under painful necessity alternate dispute resolution procedure, to suggest course of action depending on the nature of disputes, by which the procedure can be accelerated / concluded in earliest time. It is needles to mention that the course of action suggested to be followed by the respective parties for uninterrupted execution of any works contract and / or for minimizing/ eliminating any dispute or difference during performance of contract, may be different for different contracts and for different factual matrix culminating to the disputes and differences between the parties.

Book Description
Ransomware is one of the most feared and dangerous types of malware of our time. As cybersecurity professionals, we are engaged in a relentless battle against this malicious software and the threat actors who wield it. In this book, we will delve into the origins, evolution, and escalation of this warfare, as well as explore the mechanics of the counteroffensive. We will begin by examining the emergence of primitive ransomware and then track the rise of modern ransomware and the threat actors behind it. This comprehensive analysis will shed light on these malicious programs and the individuals or groups responsible for their deployment. Following that, we will focus on maximizing our defensive strategies and technical skills. This book aims to be the definitive guide on ransomware, addressing every facet of this significant cybersecurity challenge. Topics covered include how ransomware is used, who writes it, which threat actors employ it, how these actors launch attacks, the techniques they use, and how we can detect and counteract these techniques.

Book Description
Asset allocation has long been viewed as a safe bet for reducing risk in a portfolio. Asset allocators strive to buy when prices are low and sell when prices rise. Tactical asset allocation (TAA) practitioners tend to emphasize shorter-term adjustments, reducing exposure when recent market performance has been good, and increasing exposure in a slipping market (in contrast to dynamic asset allocation, or portfolio insurance). As interest in this technique continues to grow, J.P. Morgan's Wai Lee provides comprehensive coverage of the analytical tools needed to successfully implement and monitor tactical asset allocation.

Book Description
This comprehensive resource demonstrates how wireless sensor network (WSN) systems, a key element of the Internet of Things (IoT), are designed and evaluated to solve problems associated with autonomous sensing systems. Functional blocks that form WSN-based systems are described, chapter by chapter, providing the reader with a progressive learning path through all aspects of designing remote sensing capabilities using a WSN-based system. The development and a full description of fundamental performance equations and technological solutions required by these real-time systems are included. This book explores the objectives and goals associated with tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (T-ISR) missions. Readers gain insight into the correlation between fine-grained sensor resolution associated with WSN-based system complexities and the difficult requirements associated with T-ISR missions. The book demonstrates how to wield emergent technologies to arrive at reliable and robust wireless networking for T-ISR and associated tasks using low-cost, low-power persistent sensor nodes. WSN is broken down into constituent subsystems, key components, functional descriptions, and attendant mathematical descriptions. This resource explains how the design of each element can be approached and successfully integrated into a viable and responsive sensor system that is autonomous, adaptable to mission objectives and environments, and deployable worldwide. It also provides examples of what not to do based on lessons learned from past (and current) systems that failed to provide end users with the required information. Chapters are linked together, in order of system assembly (concepts to operation), to provide the reader with a full toolset that can help deliver versatility in design decisions, solutions, and understanding of such systems, end to end.
