Cette étude vise à repérer les effets cachés d'un dispositif de formation sur la construction identitaire d'adolescents. Nous appuyant sur des éléments de la sociologie du curriculum (Forquin 1989, Perrenoud 1994, 1998) et des théories constructivistes de la personnalité (Piaget, Inhelder 1955, Piaget 1972) envisagée dans son utilité fonctionnelle et dynamique (Tap 1991, Perron 1985), nous proposons une approche longitudinale de représentations sociales élaborées au cours d'un dispositif de formation à l'animation non professionnelle accessible à partir de 17 ans. Les principaux résultats obtenus à partir d'échelles de Likert éprouvées au moyen de comparaisons de moyennes et d'ACP, rapportent une évolution significative des représentations sociales envisagées et indiquent un effet maturant de la formation. Progressivement moins idéalisées, plus élaborées, plus réalistes et orientées vers l'avenir, les représentations sociales témoignent d'une évolution de l'adolescent vers une maturité plus adulte. Ces effets apparaissent liés aux composantes théoriques et pratiques particulières du dispositif de formation étudié et contribuent à la compréhension des mécanismes mis en jeu dans le curriculum caché. Nous repérons que les différents phases du dispositif étudié jouent des rôles spécifiques et complémentaires à mettre en relation avec le vécu des sujets. Enfin nous proposons que la recherche d'effets "dispositif" et l'abord du curriculum caché ne sont pas nécessairement des efforts vains. Ils doivent être envisagés dans leur dimension temporelle la plus large et concernent tous les acteurs du curriculum : les concepteurs, les formateurs, les formés.
