Book Description
Michael Sudduth examines three prominent objections to natural theology that have emerged in the Reformed streams of the Protestant theological tradition: objections from the immediacy of our knowledge of God, the noetic effects of sin, and the logic of theistic arguments. Distinguishing between the project of natural theology and particular models of natural theology, Sudduth argues that none of the main Reformed objections is successful as an objection to the project of natural theology itself. One particular model of natural theology - the dogmatic model - is best suited to handle Reformed concerns over natural theology. According to this model, rational theistic arguments represent the reflective reconstruction of the natural knowledge of God by the Christian in the context of dogmatic theology. Informed by both contemporary religious epistemology and the history of Protestant philosophical theology, Sudduth’'s examination illuminates the complex nature of the project of natural theology and its place in the Reformed tradition.

Book Description
The Maid Narratives shares the memories of black domestic workers and the white families they served, uncovering the often intimate relationships between maid and mistress. Based on interviews with over fifty people -- both white and black -- these stories deliver a personal and powerful message about resilience and resistance in the face of oppression in the Jim Crow South. The housekeepers, caretakers, sharecroppers, and cooks who share their experiences in The Maid Narratives ultimately moved away during the Great Migration. Their perspectives as servants who left for better opportunities outside of the South offer an original telling of physical and psychological survival in a racially oppressive caste system: Vinella Byrd, for instance, from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, recalls how a farmer she worked for would not allow her to clean her hands in the family's wash pan. These narratives are complemented by the voices of white women, such as Flora Templeton Stuart, from New Orleans, who remembers her maid fondly but realizes that she knew little about her life. Like Stuart, many of the white narrators remain troubled by the racial norms of the time. Viewed as a whole, the book presents varied, rich, and detailed accounts, often tragic, and sometimes humorous. The Maid Narratives reveals, across racial lines, shared hardships, strong emotional ties, and inspiring strength.

Book Description
The arena of deliverance ministry has often been characterized by extremes and abuses that cloud the legitimacy of this biblical practice. So Free! is a well-balanced, biblically based, and doctrinally sound approach to this often misunderstood and controversial subject. With dramatic personal experience of the power of God, William Sudduth advocates not hyper-spirituality, but childlike faith. He gives the reader clear understanding of deliverance and fresh revelation of the spiritual realm. He covers the history of the deliverance movement, including both the high and low points of ministry; discusses points of entry for evil spirits; and offers practical advice on how to minister to those needing deliverance. Also included are testimonies of those set free from different kinds of oppression. Through the remarkable biblical insights and cautions about the ministry, readers will be able to find freedom themselves and help others do the same.

Book Description
The Cove, or Bunker's Cove, is a place that remains virtually untouched by time. Nestled within the confines of beautiful Panama City and only a stone's throw away from St. Andrews Bay, The Cove abounds with rich tradition and charm. Before tourism moved farther south, the area was a haven for those from more hectic locales, with local businessmen including A.J. Gay, T.H. Harmon, W.C. Sherman, L.H. Howell, and H.L. Suddeth promoting the area's heavily forested, game-rich peninsula. The surrounding waters teemed with snapper, flounder, crabs, and shrimp, supporting locals and drawing tourists, including actor Clark Gable. Amidst changing times, the neighborhood has survived and continues to thrive. This must-have photo album, filled with many never-before-seen images culled from a variety of local sources, is a fitting tribute to this peaceful community. Residents and tourists alike will discover what it was like to live, work, and play in The Cove of yesteryear. Snapshot glimpses of the past bring to life the neighborhood as it is fondly remembered-the corner markets, the shipyard and air corps neighbors, Cove School, and the Cove Hotel.
