Book Description
Harlan Post, an experienced Hollywood actor, shares an honest, complete, three-dimensional perspective on the challenges and struggles aspiring actors face in this guide to succeeding as an actor. Recalling how naïve he was when he moved to Hollywood in July 2012, he examines how tough it is to succeed as an actor. About two million people in Los Angeles call themselves actors but only several hundred make a living at it. But he overcame the odds, appearing in major TV shows, mainstream feature films, independent films, countless pilots, national and regional commercials, short films, and other projects. Along the way, he has met some top-notch people – as well as some of the sleaziest scum. In this book, Post shares missteps made and moves that paid off. He also celebrates some of his lucky breaks and explains why it’s so important to listen to everyone’s advice, think about what you can use, and discard the rest. Whether you are a struggling actor or an aspiring actor, this book will help you be more successful in a highly competitive business.

Book Description
Enjoy this FREE second chance romcom series starter by Kristeen Groth... My life needed a time-out. Or a do-over. After my dream of taking New York by storm as a fashion designer dramatically imploded in one fell swoop—culminating with a warm splat on my head—I realized if the city had no more love for me, I might as well go home. Returning to Moonlit Lake feeling like a failure was bad enough, but when I walked into the local bar, the first thing I saw was the love of my life, Rowan, whom I hadn’t seen in fourteen years, on his knee proposing to someone else. Not exactly the welcome home I expected. Letting him go the first time was my biggest regret. One I never got over. I’d do whatever it took to get him back. Maybe opening a clothing boutique in town would show Rowan I was back to stay, and prove I wasn’t a failure. Starting over in my hometown wouldn’t be easy, but surely my luck was changing. When you’ve hit rock bottom and washed the pigeon poop out of your hair, things can only get better, right? Wrong! Hinted is a sweet, second chance, romantic comedy with small-town charm, a meddling matchmaker, swoony kisses, and a touch of mystery. All the fun and feels, without the spice or swears. For lovers of Emma St Clair, Jenny Proctor, and Sariah Wilson.

Book Description
First published in 1999, this engaging interdisciplinary study of romantic science focuses on the work of five influential figures in twentieth-century transatlantic intellectual history. In this book, Martin Halliwell constructs an innovative tradition of romantic science by indicating points of theoretical and historical intersection in the thought of William James (American philosopher); Otto Rank (Austrian psychoanalyst); Ludwig Binswanger (Swiss psychiatrist); Erik Erikson (Danish/German psychologist); and Oliver Sacks (British neurologist). Beginning with the ferment of intellectual activity in late eighteenth-century German Romanticism, Halliwell argues that only with William James’ theory of pragmatism early in the twentieth century did romantic science become a viable counter-tradition to strictly empirical science. Stimulated by debates over rival models of consciousness and renewed interest in theories of the self, Halliwell reveals that in their challenge to Freud’s adoption of ideas from nineteenth-century natural science, these thinkers have enlarged the possibilities of romantic science for bridging the perceived gulf between the arts and sciences.
