Book Description
"Abstract: The species of six genera (Atanycolus Foerster, Craspedolcus Enderlein, Ectemnoplax Enderlein, Shelfordia Cameron, Stenobracon Szépligeti and Vipio Latreille) of the subfamily Braconinae (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) from China are revised and 29 species are recognized, including 11 new species (Atanycolus carinatus sp. nov., A. longiquus sp. nov., A. maculipennis sp. nov., A. setosus sp. nov., Craspedolcus maculithorax sp. nov., C. nigrabdominalis sp. nov., Ectemnoplax bimaculosus sp. nov., Shelfordia fulva sp. nov., S. obscuripennis sp. nov., Stenobracon (Stenobracon) longatus sp. nov. and Vipio abnormis sp. nov.), which are described and illustrated. Ectemnoplax xizanginensis Wang, Chen et He, 2006, is proposed as a syn. nov. of E. peruliventris Enderlein, 1920. Two species, Shelfordia longicaudata van Achterberg, 1993, and Vipio mongolicus Telenga, 1936, are reported from China for the first time. Keys to the Chinese species of the genera Atanycolus, Craspedolcus, Ectemnoplax, Shelfordia, Stenobracon and Vipio are provided. Keywords: Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Braconinae, Braconini, Atanycolus, Craspedolcus, Ectemnoplax, Shelfordia, Stenobracon, Vipio, new species, new record, China"--Page 4.

The Greenland Entomofauna
Author: Jens Böcher
Publisher: BRILL
ISBN: 9004261052
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 897
Book Description
In The Greenland Entomofauna an international team of 64 taxonomic specialists provide for the first time a richly illustrated guide to the identification of the ≈1200 species of Hexapods/Insects, Arachnids and Myriapods so far known to occur in the country. While the composition, origin and adaptations of the Greenland fauna has always been a challenge to biogeographers and ecologists/ecophysiologists, the provision of a tool for detailed identification of its constituent species is now particularly timely, since global climate change will expectedly have a particularly noticeable impact on biota at high latitudes. This obviously renders the feasibility of monitoring distributional range shifts of the principal components of this biota a matter of some urgency. Contributors are: Achterberg, Cornelius van; Ahola, Matti; Barták, Miroslav; Behan-Pelletier, Valerie; Bird, Jeremy M.; Bøg, Katrine; Brodo, Fenja; Buhl, Peter N.; Dahl, Christine; Disney, R. Henry L.; Dittmar, Katharina; Fjellberg, Arne; Gammelmo, Øivind; Forshage, Mattias; Gerecke, Reinhard; Gertsson, Carl-Axel; Haastriter, Michael M.L.; Haenni, Jean-Paul; Heie, Ole E.; Heraty, John M.; Hodgson, Chris; Hodkinson, Ian D.; Horsfield, David; Huber, John T.; Jaschoff, Matthias; Jensen, Frank; Johanson, Kjell A.; Jussila, Reijo; Karsholt, Ole; Krzeminska, Ewa; Lantsov, Vladimir I.; Láska, Pavel; Lindegaard, Claus; Lyneborg, Leif (†); Makarova, Olga; Marusik, Yura M.; Mathis, Wayne N.; Mazánek, Libor; Michelsen, Verner; Munk, Thorkild (†); Murphy, William L.; Nielsen, Søren A.; Nielsen, Tore R.; Noyes, John S.; Oosterbroek, Pjotr; Ozerov, Andrey L.; Pape, Thomas; Pinto, John D.; Pollet, Marc; Rindal, Eirik; Rohácek, Jindrich; Simonsen, Thomas J.; Smith, Vincent S.; Söli, Geir; Starý, Jaroslav; Strassen, Richard zur; Svensson, Bo. Chalcidoidea of Iran
Author: Hassan Ghahari
Publisher: CABI
ISBN: 1789248469
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 446
Book Description
The superfamily Chalcidoidea (Insecta, Hymenoptera) contains in excess of 26,000 described species worldwide, but with an estimated total diversity of more than 500,000 species the vast majority of species have yet to be discovered and described. Most chalcidoid species are parasitoids of hosts in at least 12 different insect orders, attacking the egg, larval or pupal stages, though phytophagy and other life cycles and hosts are known. Iran is the 18th largest country in the world and has a rich and diverse insect fauna, including Chalcidoidea. It is extremely interesting from a biogeographic point of view, and a paradise for an entomologist. This book summarizes the results of all prior research concerning species diversity of Iranian Chalcidoidea, including host records and distribution records by province in Iran as well as world distribution by country for 1,351 species of Chalcidoidea recorded from Iran through the end of 2019.

A revision of the Chinese Stephanidae (Hymenoptera, Stephanoidea)
Author: Chun-dan Hong
Publisher: PenSoft Publishers LTD
ISBN: 9546425966
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 116
Book Description
Stephanidae Leach, 1815 (Hymenoptera: Stephanoidea) is an imperfectly known family in its systematics and many types have never been studied since their descriptions. At present 345 extant species are recorded worldwide, and only twenty species in five genera are known from six provinces of China. An extensive review of previously published literatures and previously unidentified specimens referred to Stephanidae results in taxonomic revision of the family from China. This monograph includes identification of six new species, establishment of nine new synonyms and designation of one lectotype. Descriptions and illustrations of all Chinese species are provided and keys to five genera from China and their species are made. The results of this monograph clarify some taxonomic confusion, richen the geographical distributions of Stephanidae in China and provide facilities for further research in Chinese Stephanidae.
