Book Description
This Solution Manual, a companion volume of the book, Fundamentals of Solid-State Electronics, provides the solutions to selected problems listed in the book. Most of the solutions are for the selected problems that had been assigned to the engineering undergraduate students who were taking an introductory device core course using this book. This Solution Manual also contains an extensive appendix which illustrates the application of the fundamentals to solutions of state-of-the-art transistor reliability problems which have been taught to advanced undergraduate and graduate students. This book is also available as a set with Fundamentals of Solid-State Electronics and Fundamentals of Solid-State Electronics — Study Guide.

Book Description
Solid-State Devices and Applications is an introduction to the solid-state theory and its devices and applications. The book also presents a summary of all major solid-state devices available, their theory, manufacture, and main applications. The text is divided into three sections. The first part deals with the semiconductor theory and discusses the fundamentals of semiconductors; the kinds of diodes and techniques in their manufacture; the types and modes of operation of bipolar transistors; and the basic principles of unipolar transistors and their difference with bipolar transistors. The second part talks about the kinds of integrated circuits and their future developments; amplifiers, including their fundamentals and different types; and the principles and categories of oscillators. The third part discusses the applications of solid-state devices; transistor parameters and equivalent circuits; and the fundamentals and applications of Boolean-algebra. The book is a good read for technicians and students who are about to enter or are currently in their final stages of their course, as well as those who have recently finished and would like to have their knowledge refreshed.

Book Description
The evolution of solid-state circuit technology has a long history within a relatively short period of time. This technology has lead to the modern information society that connects us and tools, a large market, and many types of products and applications. The solid-state circuit technology continuously evolves via breakthroughs and improvements every year. This book is devoted to review and present novel approaches for some of the main issues involved in this exciting and vigorous technology. The book is composed of 22 chapters, written by authors coming from 30 different institutions located in 12 different countries throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. Thus, reflecting the wide international contribution to the book. The broad range of subjects presented in the book offers a general overview of the main issues in modern solid-state circuit technology. Furthermore, the book offers an in depth analysis on specific subjects for specialists. We believe the book is of great scientific and educational value for many readers. I am profoundly indebted to the support provided by all of those involved in the work. First and foremost I would like to acknowledge and thank the authors who worked hard and generously agreed to share their results and knowledge. Second I would like to express my gratitude to the Intech team that invited me to edit the book and give me their full support and a fruitful experience while working together to combine this book.

Book Description
Solid-State Circuits provides an introduction to the theory and practice underlying solid-state circuits, laying particular emphasis on field effect transistors and integrated circuits. Topics range from construction and characteristics of semiconductor devices to rectification and power supplies, low-frequency amplifiers, sine- and square-wave oscillators, and high-frequency effects and circuits. Black-box equivalent circuits of bipolar transistors, physical equivalent circuits of bipolar transistors, and equivalent circuits of field effect transistors are also covered. This volume is divided into three sections comprised of 11 chapters and begins with an introduction to the basic physics of bulk semiconductors, diodes, and transistors, along with the construction and characteristics of devices and integrated circuits. Physics is kept to the minimum necessary for the understanding of devices. Attention then turns to the fundamental use of semiconductors in rectifier, amplifier, and oscillator circuits. The high frequency use of transistors is given consideration, and in all examples designs from device characteristics are included. The remaining chapters focus on the development of equivalent circuits of transistors. This approach highlights the alternating current operation of devices, and some of the more sophisticated circuits using semiconductor devices are demonstrated. This book will be of interest to students and practitioners of electronics and electrical engineering.
