Scientific Essay from the year 2011 in the subject Forestry / Forestry Economics, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, language: English, abstract: Socio economic conditions, floral and faunal diversity of Lulusar Dutipatsar National Park was determined through interviewing 35 native respondents during July 2011.The nomads come to the park area from June to August and graze their livestock on the pastures. About 60-70 herdsmen come every year for grazing their livestock. The main sources of income for native people are livestock rearing, tourism and private jobs. It was found that about 90% of the people living in kacha houses and 80% of the people were illiterate. No basic facilities were available for indigenous people and visitors. During the survey, plants were collected from the surroundings of the park, besides a good number of wildlife species is also present in the park. Due to the increase in population and livestock, the flora and the fauna of the park are decreasing day by day due to heavy grazing. Based on the results, it was concluded that the government should take immediate action on priority basis to conserve the biodiversity of the park.
