Book Description
The production of rubber and rubber products is a large and diverse industry. The rubber product manufacturing industry is basically divided into two major sectors: tyre and non-tyre. The tyre sector produces all types of automotive and nonautomotive tyres whereas the non-tyre sector produces high technology and sophisticated products like conveyor belts , rubber seals etc. The wide range of rubber products manufactured by the rubber industry comprises all types of heavy duty earth moving tyres, auto tyres, tubes, automobile parts, footwear, beltings etc. The rubber industry has been growing tremendously over the years. The future of the rubber industry is tied to the global economy. Rapidly growing automotive sector in developing economies and increased demand for high-performance tyres are expected to contribute to the growth of the global industrial rubber market. The current scenario reveals that there is a tremendous scope for the development of rubber processing industries. The global market for industrial rubber products is projected to increase 5.8 % per year. Investment in rubber industry is expected to offer significant opportunities in the near future and realizing returns to investors willing to explore this sector. This book deals with all aspects of rubber processing; mixing, milling, extrusion and molding, reclaiming and manufacturing process of rubber products. The major contents of the book are rubbers materials and processing, mixing technology of rubber, techniques of vulcanization, rubber vulcanization, rubber compounding, rubber reclaiming, manufacture of rubber products, latex and foam rubber, silicone rubber, polybutadiene and polyisoprene, styrene butadiene rubber, rubber natural etc. The book contains addresses of plant & machinery suppliers with their Photographs. Book Description
Excerpt from Rubber Machinery: An Encyclopedia of Machines Used in Rubber Manufacture Rubber manufacture, be it noted, divides itself into some thirteen well defined classes. In these lines there are certain basic processes that all use - washing and mixing, for example. It is true, also, that most of them make cements, for their own use at least; that a great number use tubing machines; that spreaders are used by others than proofers, and so on. The object of this volume is to record the machines that are of general application either to all or to a number of the lines into which the trade is divided. To this end voluminous matter has been collected from machinery makers the world over; from rubber factories, from patent specifications - 'american, English, German and French. The actual value of such a collection to the rubber manufacturer, whatever his line, should be great, but the suggestive value will be even greater. Book Description
This is the definitive guide book for building the RotaryMek-10X rubber band machine gun, one of the world's most advanced rubber band gun designs! To see a video demonstration of the gun and a preview of the book, look on the web for a video of the same title. Building the RotaryMek-10X is a complex, time-consuming woodworking project. Although successful completion of this project does not require particularly sophisticated woodworking techniques, the builder will need to have access to and be able to skillfully use a number of different tools, including a drill press, band saw, and computer-based scanner and printer. The end result of this project is a rubber band gun unlike any other, a truly fully automatic, rapid-firing, rubber band machine gun! In a manner analogous to a real machine gun, the mechanism of the RotaryMek-10X is driven by energy derived from the same source as that which propels the projectiles--the elastic potential energy of the stretched rubber band ammunition loaded onto the gun. There's no crank, no motor... just a trigger and a can of whoop-ass! If properly constructed from high-quality materials, the RotaryMek-10X can be loaded with as many as seventy size 33 rubber bands at one time. The gun develops an extremely high rate of fire (think of a Minigun), but it also has a responsive trigger system, allowing an operator to choose between firing many short bursts or just letting rip, "fire-hose-style." Please note that this project calls for the use of US-standard dimensional lumber as well as two different sizes of US-standard PVC plumbing pipe. Prospective builders outside the United States might first want to check the availability of the needed materials before committing to the project.
