Book Description
Stevie the Rifleman Flemmi was, for forty years, one of the most feared gangsters in Boston, and for much of that time, he was the partner of Whitey Bulger, the sixteen-year fugitive with a $2 million reward on his head who was captured in 2011. Flemmi has been convicted of ten murders and took the Fifth Amendment when asked about ten others. His cohort, Bulger, is charged with nineteen more. Rifleman is the story of Flemmi's life of crime, as told to federal and state law enforcement after he pleaded guilty in 2003. The original document on which the book is based is called a DEA 6, and it ran 146 single-spaced pages, covering dozens of extortions, assaults, and murders, including two of his girlfriends, one of whom was also his common law stepdaughter. Supplementing the text are close to 300 photographs from Carr's own collection. This is truly a must-have for any true crime fan."

Book Description
This is a war story. It’s about real people and events before and during the American Revolution. The central characters in this work—Daniel Morgan, George Washington, Patrick Henry, Charles Mynn Thruston, and Generals Arnold, Knox, Greene, Lee, Gates, and a host of others—actually did the deeds at the places and times described herein. So too did their accurately identified foreign and native adversaries. Though this is a work of fiction, readers may be surprised to discover the American Revolution was also one of the most ‘un-civil’ of Civil Wars. If Daniel Morgan were alive today, he would be my near neighbor in Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley. While visiting a nearby gristmill, Daniel Morgan and Nathaniel Burwell, a fellow Revolutionary War veteran, built in the late 1700s [now restored and operated by the Clarke County Historical Association], I became fascinated by this unsung American hero. “My good friend Oliver North has spent his life in the company of heroes. In this great read, he tells the stories of some of my personal heroes—the Riflemen you will meet in this book!” —LTG William G. “Jerry” Boykin, former commander, U.S. Army Special Forces and author of six books including his autobiography, Never Surrender

Book Description
The 5th Battalion of the 60th (Royal American) Regiment was the first rifle battalion in the regular British Army. Raised in 1797, it marked a significant step in the development of British light infantry and rifle corps. Lieutenant Colonel Francis de Rottenburg, the battalion's commander for almost 10 years, formulated the first British Army light infantry manual. After serving in Ireland during the 1798 rebellion, in the West Indies, and in the Americas, the battalion rose to fame during the Peninsular War. It was one of only three battalions to be present from the initial landings in Portugal through to the invasion of France, and victory six years later. Divided between the brigades of Wellington's army to provide specialist rifle and skirmishing capability, the riflemen often formed advance or rear guards, patrols and outposts. Frequently praised by Wellington and his divisional commanders, the battalion won 16 battle honors. Drawing on official records, memoirs, court martial transcripts, inspection reports, and unpublished letters, Riflemen recounts not only the campaigns in which the battalion fought, but also many personal stories of the soldiers who served with it. Riflemen includes tales of murder, promotion from the ranks, desertion, prisoners of war, and small actions that are often overlooked. As the first history of the battalion written in almost 100 years, it sheds new light on a vital component of Wellington's army and its important place in the history of the British Army.

Book Description
More than 70 years after it was first published, this book is still one of the all-time classics on the art of military marksmanship, and is required reading at the U.S. Marine Corps Sniper School. The author grew up learning to shoot in the backwoods of Indiana, and went on to compete nationally as a sharpshooter. When World War I broke out in Europe, he was so eager to fight that he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Wounded seven times and finally invalided home after nearly two years on the front lines, he was an enthusiastic soldier and a superb sniper, with over 100 confirmed kills. His story of his time in the trenches includes frequent lessons on the mindset, the tactics, and the weapons of sniping, and has much hard-won advice about personal survival on the battlefield. It stands out as one of the best first-person accounts of World War I.
