Book Description
An unexpected collaboration between two authors that’s hot enough to spark a fire... Chase After an excruciating loss, I’m desperate for a fresh start. Away from the painful memories. Away from everyone I know and anyone who knows my story. That’s how I end up in Eagle’s Landing, Pennsylvania. As a bestselling author, my main reason for moving to a remote mountain cabin is to overcome the writer’s block that crushed my creativity for the past two years. My hope is to rediscover my words in the quiet, small town where no one knows me. Or my past. A place where I can blend in enough that I become invisible. Rett Even though Chase, one of my favorite authors, insists he wants to be left alone, I refuse to let him wallow in whatever’s drowning him. As a local bookstore owner and author myself, I’m intrigued by the man who’s a master of the written word. Unfortunately, his social skills could use a lot of work. Even so, I’m determined to pull the irritable and frustrating man out of the dark pit he’s fallen into and back to the surface, no matter how hard he fights it. I only hope dragging Chase down that fiery path just might reignite his spark and that I don’t get burned in the process. Note: Reigniting Chase is a slow-burn, emotional romance that deals with love after loss. Please check the content warning before reading or purchasing. It can be found at the beginning of the book as well as on my website here: https://www.jeannestjames.com/reignitingchase. This standalone gay romance has a guaranteed HEA, no cheating and no cliffhanger.

Book Description
What does it mean politically to construct climate change as a matter of urgency? We are certainly running out of time to stop climate change. But perhaps this particular understanding of urgency could be at the heart of the problem. When in haste, we make more mistakes, we overlook things, we get tunnel vision. Here we make the case for a ‘slow politics of urgency’. Rather than rushing and speeding up, the sustainable future is arguably better served by us challenging the dominant framings through which we understand time and change in society. Transformation to meet the climate challenge requires multiple temporalities of change, speeding up certain types of change processes but also slowing things down. While recognizing the need for certain types of urgency in climate politics, Haste directs attention to the different and alternative temporalities at play in climate and sustainability politics. It addresses several key issues on climate urgency: How do we accommodate concerns that are undermined by the politics of urgency, such as participation and justice? How do we act upon the urgency of the climate challenge without reproducing the problems that speeding up of social processes has brought? What do the slow politics of urgency look like in practice? Divided into 23 short and accessible chapters, written by both established and emerging scholars from different disciplines, Haste tackles a major problem in contemporary climate change research and offers creative perspectives on pathways out of the climate emergency.

Book Description
This is a sketchbook of the twin realities of Catholic faith and Catholic schools. A theological vision of the Catholic religious imagination provides the framework for viewing these realities from different angles. Taking Pope Benedict XVI's remark that 'truth is in the Whole, ' this book looks at Catholic faith and education from the rich perspective of the sacramental or Catholic imagination. Historian John Tracy Ellis's conviction that this age will be known as 'the era of baptismal consciousness, ' reflects a growing awareness in the entire Christian community that it must take its responsibilities in evangelization seriously. Combing the Tradition is an attempt to comb the Catholic tradition from the point of view of this re-emerging baptismal consciousness. It marvels at the role that Catholic schools, teachers, parents, and students play in recreating this great truth. It finds God's loving hand at work in the lives of citizens seeking meaning at Ground Zero, in the re-emerging theology of the domestic church, and in understanding the task of Catholic education. It raises questions concerning the impact of consumer society on the lives of our young people and finds hope in schools, which continue to shape the religious imaginations of the next generation of a community of disciples.
