Book Description
The most complete collection of technical and practical information on reciprocating pumps ever assembled. Discusses pump theory, design, and maintenance. Practical aspects of reciprocating pumps are combined with theory to provide a convincing explanation of previous mysterious and misunderstood parameters, including liquid acceleration, acoustics, and NPSH. Discusses slurry pumping in detail, especially regarding the relatively new industry of transporting solids in the form of a liquid. Subjects covered include pump types, dynamics, net positive, suction head, pulsation, surge control and more. Many tables and charts enhance the utility of the book, and while the subject matter is broad and comprehensive, the language is clear enough to be understood by the engineer and maintenance man alike.

Book Description
Positive Displacement Pumps is a current reference guide for positive displacement pumps for both traditional and state-of-the-art testing methods, and serves as a bridge between textbooks and manufacturer's literature by providing equipment testing practices based on technical know-how, practical experience, and academic theory. With its simple, practical focus, this book not only is a resource guide to any engineer's task, but also adds important information to the overall literature of pump fundamentals and operating reliability: Written for field users, and terminology concisely defined. A mentoring guide highlighting areas for troubleshooting problem-solving when performance criteria are not met. Produced with industry consensus and gone through the same rigorous technical review process as other ETPC procedures.

Book Description
A four-chamber piston pump has been tested in several evolving configurations. A significant improvement over an earlier hyadrazine pump is the elimination of warm gas leakage in the powerhead. This has been achieved through the used of soft seals for the power piston and intake-exhaust valves, with gas temperatures approaching 800 K (980 F). The pumped fluid serves as a coolant, and the cylinder walls and heads are made of aluminum for high thermal conductivity, low mass, and affordability.
