Book Description
Impreasin na Gaeilge / Impressions of the Irish language (2014) is a research book on the sound of the Irish language based on native voices of the Gael from the Gaeltacht itself. The book is based on empirical work by two authors from County Clare. An tAthair Seóirse Mac Clúin based Réilthíní Óir on the Irish of the Great Blasket Islands. Réilthíní Óir comprised the native Irish of Tomás Ó Criomhthain and the islanders of the Great Blasket Islands prior to 1922. The original title is revised in full with modern additions based on current native Irish (2007-2014). The language planning researcher is Seosamh Mac Ionnrachtaigh from Kilrush West Clare. This combined research results in an Irish-Irish Dictionary of the Irish language with key explanations in English.

Book Description
This collective volume provides the reader with an exploration of Latin America from an Irish perspective. The contributors have explored the multiple, and sometimes surprising, links that exist between Ireland and Latin America, touching on specific features of these links such as the political and cultural influence of the Irish diaspora and their political relations. These topics are examined through different media, including literature, films, history, poetry and sociology, and offer an opportunity to discover an aspect of Irish culture and history that has not been widely studied. The authors deal with these questions from different cultural perspectives within past and present contexts, exploring two cultures and histories which, at times, are linked through their shared destinies. They also provide the reader with different national perspectives. In presenting the long-lasting and multifaceted relationships between Ireland and Latin America, the contributors have helped to deepen our understanding of a part of Ireland’s historical heritage that deserves more focus.

Book Description
The Atlantic in Global History is a collection of original essays by leading authors that both introduce the main themes of Atlantic history and expand the category of the Atlantic chronologically, spatially, and methodologically. Moving away from the nation-state focused model of Atlantic history, this book emphasizes the comparisons among national experiences of the Atlantic. Meanwhile, by extending beyond the early modern period and into the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, it presents the continued analytical value of the Atlantic paradigm. Each chapter explores the events that formed the nations and cultures of the Atlantic region and examines the Atlantic’s relationship with non-Atlantic communities. This second edition is updated with a new introduction, which includes a section dedicated to developments in the field since the publication of the previous edition, and a new guide for instructors, with suggestions for classroom use. The volume’s broad global and chronological coverage makes it an ideal book for students and lecturers of Atlantic History.

Book Description
The Real Ireland is the first study of Irish documentary film, but more than that, it is a study of Ireland itself--of how the idea of Ireland evolved throughout the twentieth century and how documentary cinema both recorded and participated in the process of change. More than just a film studies work, it is a discussion of history, politics and culture, which also explores the philosophical roots of the documentary idea, and how this idea informs concepts of society, self and nation. It features rare and previously unseen illustrations and a detailed documentary filmography, the first of its kind in print anywhere.
