The federal gov¿t. has increasingly focused on linking affordable housing to transit-oriented developments -- compact, walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods located near transit -- through the HUD¿s housing programs and the Dept. of Transportation's (DoT) Federal Transit Admin.'s (FTA) transit programs.
