High Pressure Materials Properties: Magnetic Properties of Oxides Under Pressure
Author: Yoshiyuki Kawazoe
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3662645939
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 774
Book Description
The subject of this supplement to Landolt-Börnstein IV/22 Series is to present both the numerical and graphical data on the various magnetic properties of materials under pressure. Data for transition metal binary oxides MmOn [M: transition metals, O: oxygen, m, n: 1~15], MXO [M: transition metals, X: F, Cl, Br, O: oxygen] and MM’On [M: transition metals, M’: transition metals or non-transition metal elements, O: oxygen, n=2, 2.5, 3] ternary oxides are presented. As well known, the data-compiling principle in the Landolt-Bӧrrnstein series is to choose the best reliable values from many available experimental data. The present compilation is done according to this principle.

Magnetic Properties of Metals and Alloys Under Pressure
Author: D. K. Wohlleben
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 11
Book Description
A new technique for measuring the magnetization of materials over a wide range of pressures and temperatures was developed. Because of its high sensitivity, this technique opened up a new field: The pressure dependence of weak metallic susceptibilities. The technique employs a Faraday magnetometer, miniature pressure clamps, and a novel method for compensating the background magnetization of the clamps. Emphasis was placed on pressure-induced magnetic-nonmagnetic transitions in metals. These were documented for the first time by magnetic measurements on certain rare earth metals, their alloys and compounds, and itinerant ferromagnets. As a result of this work, a new class of nonmagnetic rare earth materials with nonintegral valence was recognized. (Author).

High Pressure Materials Properties
Author: T. Kaneko
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 9783642418334
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 0
Book Description
The subject of this Landolt-Börnstein volume is to present data on the magnetic properties of materials under pressure. Data for magnetic single metals, disordered and ordered alloys and compounds containing 3d elements as magnetic atoms are presented. This comprehensive set of data shows crystallographic data (space group, lattice constants) and magnetic properties such as magnetic moment, magnetic transition temperature, magnetization, magnetic structure, and others. Pressure derivatives or pressure coefficients of magnetic properties are given numerically for each material. In addition, pressure dependencies of magnetic properties and magnetic phase diagrams are also given graphically. As well known, the data-compiling principle in the Landolt-Bӧrrnstein series is to choose the best reliable values from many available experimental data.

High Pressure Chemistry

Languages : en
Pages : 597
Book Description
Recent advances in the field of high pressure techniques influenced me to propose an Advanced Study Institute in Hi0h Pressure Chemistry. It was intended that the summer school should devote itself exclusively to the description and discussion of the effects of pressure in chemistry. Besides typical effects on matter, the application of high pressure techniques to existing research methods were to be treated, as well as pressure effects on reaction rates and equilibria. According to the concept of the Advanced Study Institute Program, the Summer School proceedings were meant to be a high level teaching activity. It was emphasized that the contributions should have the character of surveys rather than of highly specialized reports on recent research results. NOw, following the successful completion of the summer school, which involved very close cooperation with my colleagues during its preparation, it is my sincere wish to thank all the lecturers and contributors to this volume for the extreme care they used in preparing the lectures and manuscripts. I am especially grateful to the members of the organizing committee for their valuable assistance. Finally, the financial support of the Scientific Affairs Division of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is equally appreciated by participants and organizers of the Advanced Study Institute.
