Book Description
This book provides both preservice and seasoned music educators with a unique and powerful way of teaching. The premise of the book is to offer a pedagogical approach that emphasizes focus on conceptual learning that is sensory oriented. From the musical concepts we teach_melody, harmony, rhythm, and form_the teacher targets one concept per lesson (e.g., melody), and provides learning experiences in singing, listening, performing, moving, reading/writing, and improvising/composing that are all focused on only that concept. Essentially, the learners are bombarded visually, aurally, and kinesthetically, gaining a firm grasp of the concept because they have heard, sung, moved, performed, written, and created in that class, all in small time segments. The teacher has a greater ability to reach all students' learning needs and engage them in active learning in each class. The book not only offers background information about the learning process, but also specific lesson templates that serve as conceptual models for music classes.

Book Description
Were living in a world that is vastly different from that which existed when the original Dracula novel was written. Women are now rightly playing much more active roles, including serving as heads of countries and heads of large corporations. We hear of the ecological importance of rainforests regularly in news broadcasts; weve also heard that some newspaper people cant be trusted. Author Richard William Stoker gave up on the mental health industry when, many years ago, he started a course in psychology and was taught that women arent as smart as men because their brains are generally smaller. At that time he had a girlfriend whose head was considerably smaller than his own but whose IQ was much higher. He was christened and confirmed in the Church of England and when young, regularly attended Sunday school. When older, he couldnt completely accept the Anglican Churchs teachings, nor could he completely accept the Darwinian theory. He wanted to bring all of the above elements together in a novel that was relevant to today and found the Dracula concept to be the perfect vehicle. In order to get the details of the locations reasonably accurate, he visited Los Angeles and Las Vegas and travelled by bus from Venezuela down through Brazil.

Book Description
Tessa Tarrington's life is swirling out of control. No job. No apartment. Sick Dad...And she's back in high school! Teaching at her Gibson's Run alma mater would be tolerable, except she's sharing purgatory with her mortal enemy, Ryland Jessup. But eight years post-high-school, and after tragedies she can barely understand, Ryland no longer fits her mental image of the over-sized bully he once was. In fact, much to her disgust, he's finding his way into her heart. After the sudden death of his wife, Ryland hung up his professional shoulder pads and picked up a whistle. Now he's focused on coaching the high school football team and raising his daughter. The sudden return of his childhood crush, Tessa Tarrington, has reawakened long-ago feelings. But if God's giving him a second chance to impress Tessa, the Man Upstairs has a funny way of showing it. Just when Tessa starts to lighten up, Ryland's best friend returns. Will the always-irresistible Joey Taylor stifle any hope Ryland has to ignite the dream of a relationship with Tessa?
