However, the significant difference in the cost per pound of comber sliver between the two moisture conditions would affect the returns to the manufacturer. Sliver from low-mois ture cotton cost cents per pound, and that from high-moisture cotton cost cents. Strains and gin cleaning treatments did not affect cost of comber sliver significantly.
