Book Description
About the Book When a visit to a planetarium propels young Sara Taylor off on a lifelong journey into the world of science, she witnesses an event with her telescope that, decades later, threatens to destroy all life on Earth. While in college, pursuing her passion to become an astronomer, she meets and falls in love with Ryan who, she discovers, shares her passions and desires. Together they join a team that travels into space on a mission to land on Phobos, a lost moon of Mars, which has been knocked out of orbit. Science fiction and romance collide as battles rage in an attempt to defeat an alien device that's programmed to destroy the Earth. About the Author Jerry Donaldson is a computer programmer who spent much of his career immersed in the high tech world of Silicon Valley. In the early years of Atari, the company that brought us games like Space Invaders, he worked in the engineering lab with innovators like Steve Jobs. Always interested in physics and programs like Carl Sagan's Cosmos, a book like this was churning in his imagination for years. When his granddaughter Rachel Tanon developed a fascination for the solar system, they began to devise the story of Phobos! They worked together for several years to create this exciting book.

Book Description
In the unforgiving expanse of space, a shocking discovery on Mars threatens to ignite a war between Earth and its celestial neighbor. Anya, a reluctant participant in a joint research mission, stumbles upon an alien artifact that pulsates with an otherworldly energy. As she delves deeper, the artifact unlocks terrifying visions of a lost Martian civilization and a weapon of unimaginable power. Torn between loyalty to her home planet and empathy for the struggling Martian delegation, Anya realizes the artifact holds the key to Mars' forgotten past and a potential weapon that could shatter the fragile peace. With time running out, Anya must forge an alliance between the distrustful human and Martian scientists. Deciphering the cryptic messages embedded within the artifact, they embark on a desperate mission to a desolate Martian plateau, the suspected location of a dormant energy source with the power to devastate both planets. Anya's visions offer a chilling glimpse into the past, but the details remain shrouded in mystery. Was the weapon a last resort, or a harbinger of doom waiting to be unleashed? As they race against a ticking clock, Anya proposes a daring plan: launching a probe equipped with the artifact's message, a plea for understanding from a civilization long gone. But will this gesture of cooperation be enough to avert disaster, or will it be seen as an act of aggression, pushing both planets towards the brink of war? This sci-fi saga explores themes of human ambition, the devastating cost of war, and the possibility of forging alliances across the vast gulf of space. With its suspenseful plot, well-developed characters, and thought-provoking questions about our place in the universe, this story will captivate readers who crave adventure and wonder.

Book Description
Many of us live dual lives, as though we live in two worlds. This divergence is perhaps greatest for those embedded in what may be called "multiculturalism." Multicultural people, with their unique life experiences, are migrating around the globe, carrying their own baggage while they face the demands of living in new and strange lands. The short stories in this collection look at the daily tests facing people, frequently in Africa, as they struggle to survive, often in a rapidly changing world. These observations are made through the lens of an outsider--someone from a different culture, with different habits, seeing and learning how these trials are met--seeing and learning that people, regardless of ethnicity, share a common humanity that makes taking these tests poignant and, at times, a true reflection of the human condition. The stories focus on farmers and families, business and traditional leaders, the poor and the rich as they move through life's pathways, not knowing the changes in store for tomorrow. The stories tell tales of sadness and success, while underscoring the common denominators we all share. The stories may be seen as representing a different world, but they most likely represent the whole world.

Book Description
Can Darwinian evolution actually prove that we are alone in the Universe? This book illustrates that Darwinian evolution is not an empirically predictable or testable scientific paradigm. Also shows that ancient artifacts on Mars and the Moon are evidence of Game Wardens in our own solar system. Could the Earth be a controlled DNA repository for the ongoing creation and dissemination of life forms, including humans? The author puts forth compelling evidence in this well researched work.

Book Description
This book explores the once popular idea of 'Flexible Path' in terms of Mars, a strategy that would focus on a manned orbital mission to Mars's moons rather than the more risky, expensive and time-consuming trip to land humans on the Martian surface. While currently still not the most popular idea, this mission would take advantage of the operational, scientific and engineering lessons to be learned from going to Mars's moons first. Unlike a trip to the planet's surface, an orbital mission avoids the dangers of the deep gravity well of Mars and a very long stay on the surface. This is analogous to Apollo 8 and 10, which preceded the landing on the Moon of Apollo 11. Furthermore, a Mars orbital mission could be achieved at least five years, possibly 10 before a landing mission. Nor would an orbital mission require all of the extra vehicles, equipment and supplies needed for a landing and a stay on the planet for over a year. The cost difference between the two types of missions is in the order of tens of billions of dollars. An orbital mission to Deimos and Phobos would provide an early opportunity to acquire scientific knowledge of the moons and Mars as well, since some of the regolith is presumed to be soil ejected from Mars. It may also offer the opportunity to deploy scientific instruments on the moons which would aid subsequent missions. It would provide early operational experience in the Mars environment without the risk of a landing. The author convincingly argues this experience would enhance the probability of a safe and successful Mars landing by NASA at a later date, and lays out the best way to approach an orbital mission in great detail. Combining path-breaking science with achievable goals on a fast timetable, this approach is the best of both worlds--and our best path to reaching Mars safely in the future.
