Chaque année, l'établissement du calendrier scolaire entraine des réactions opposées. le rythme "idéal" de l'apprentissage, a du mal à émerger des recherches conduites par les chronobiologistes, les médecins, les psychologues et des contraintes sociales conjointes avec les intérêts économiques. Le rôle que joue le temps dans la progression de la connaissance d'un élève fait l'objet d'une étude fondée sur la finalité des changements cognitifs et sur le projet d'autonomisation de l'élève conduit par l'école. Les questions principales s'énoncent ainsi : comment le temps intervient-il dans les processus d'apprentissage scolaire ? Est-il possible de définir une organisation du temps à l'école qui autorise chacun des élèves à obtenir les meilleurs résultats en termes d'accroissement de sa connaissance et de son autonomie ? La recherche a conduit aux conclusions suivantes : - il est nécessaire d'avoir une institutionnalisation du temps scolaire afin de permettre à chacun d'organiser son temps d'apprentissage et par conséquent la recherche du "bon" rythme scolaire est vaine. Les résultats obtenus au niveau des notes rendent comptent de l'indépendance de l'élève à l'égard d'un temps institué. The doctrine of international relations (inter-state, indeed), territorial ideologies, the logic of autochthony and its ramifications, ethnic cleansing, are all hinged at different levels upon the same pseudo-fact: to every society a closed and exclusive territory demarcated by fixed and linear borders. This way of thinking, totally foreign to African societies for a long time, has generated today more contradictions than it can ever solve. The authors of this book make a clear distinction between territory formation "from the top" as being a deliberate political project, and its formation "from below" as being a more diffused historical process which is determined by the scheme of antagonisms and compromises between social forces. From the 23rd to 26th of November 2009 in La Palma island, in the Canaries, the Comparative Education Society in Europe (CESE) organized an international symposium entitled PISA under Examination: Changing Knowledge, Changing Tests, and Changing Schools. During four days seventeen leading scholars of Europe and America presented their contributions to debate the different problematiques of the remarkable phenomenon represented by the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment or PISA. PISA is not merely an educational event. It is also a media circus which involves the public rehearsal for reasons for failure or success; and even, in some cases, public and political and academic explanations about why 'failure' was not really that, and why 'success' was not really that either.
