Book Description
Written in August 1982, Operation Juárez emerged from Lyndon LaRouche’s intense work to forge a policy alliance among the leaders of the United States, Mexico, and India, to replace the bankrupt international financial system with a just New World Economic Order, based on principles derived from Alexander Hamilton’s American System of Economics. As the author explains in his foreword: “We have named this report ‘Operation Juárez,’ in memory of the proper alliance between the American Whigs of the United States and the Mexican liberals from whose ranks Juárez emerged as a leading figure” – ie, the Lincoln-Juárez alliance. Immediately prior to writing Operation Juárez, LaRouche, who had been in dialogue with President Reagan’s closest advisers even prior to his inauguration in early 1981, had just travelled to New Delhi where he met with Prime Minister Gandhi on April 23, 1982, and he then visited Mexico where he met with President López Portillo on May 27, 1982. As Mexico and the entire developing sector were being subjected to withering economic warfare by a desperately bankrupt City of London and Wall Street, LaRouche presented to both heads of state a battle plan to win the war and create a New World Economic Order. After meeting with President López Portillo in May, LaRouche was invited back to Mexico in early July 1982, where he met with top advisers to the Mexican President, who asked him to put his policy proposals in writing for further study and consideration. LaRouche did that within a matter of weeks, completing Operation Juárez on August 10, 1982. Shortly thereafter, President López Portillo implemented many of LaRouche’s recommendations; but with Mexico's prospective allies undermined via British Imperial operations, Mexico was not strong enough on its own to withstand the British Imperial response. Nonetheless, developing nations studied closely Mr. LaRouche’s strategy and you will recognize, as you read this book, the congruence between ongoing actions on the world stage today and the principles outlined in this book. The congruence is not an accident!

Book Description
Ciudad Juárez has recently become infamous for its murder rate, which topped 3,000 in 2010 as competing drug cartels grew increasingly violent and the military responded with violence as well. Despite the atmosphere of intimidation by troops, police, and organized criminals, women have led the way in civil society activism, spurring the Juárez Resistance and forging powerful alliances with anti-militarization activists. An in-depth examination of la Resistencia Juarense, Courage, Resistance, and Women in Ciudad Juárez draws on ethnographic research to analyze the resistance's focus on violence against women, as well as its clash with the war against drugs championed by Mexican President Felipe Calderón with the support of the United States. Through grounded insights, the authors trace the transformation of hidden discourses into public discourses that openly challenge the militarized border regimes. The authors also explore the advocacy carried on by social media, faith-based organizations, and peace-and-justice activist Javier Sicilia while Calderón faced U.S. political schisms over the role of border trade in this global manufacturing site. Bringing to light on-the-ground strategies as well as current theories from the fields of sociology, political anthropology, and human rights, this illuminating study is particularly significant because of its emphasis on the role of women in local and transnational attempts to extinguish a hot zone. As they overcome intimidation to become game-changing activists, the figures featured in Courage, Resistance, and Women in Ciudad Juárez offer the possibility of peace and justice in the wake of seemingly irreconcilable conflict.

Book Description
This book comes to its second edition intending to broaden the discussion about the plastic surgical techniques for the reconstruction of the ear. It features a more in-depth discussion of the topics previously addressed, including chapters on microtia, anotia, the upper pole, auricular lobule and complications during and following ear surgery. Furthermore, it addresses a wide variety of deformities of the auricle and surgical topics that were not included in the previous edition, such as: Reconstruction of the tragus and creation of the external auditory canal - key considerations when planning or performing a reconstruction of the ear. New concepts on the surgical anatomy of the ear - essential knowledge for plastic surgeons when performing the operation. Traumatic amputation of the ear - a common and severe social and organic problem. Discussions are presented that address the cause of the problem, as well as guidelines for surgeons during first aid in order to provide adequate reconstruction. Ear reconstruction for reparation of deformities caused by piercing Reconstruction of the auricle secondarily to prominent ear surgery Reconstruction of the ear after human and animal bite Secondary reconstruction of the ear Reduction otoplasty - an important procedure whenever the size of the ear negatively impacts the patient’s wellbeing or self-esteem due to imbalanced facial contours. Features important notes on a procedure that leaves inconspicuous scars and creates a normal and natural appearance of the organ’s architecture. Post-operative care - special information on how to optimally avoid complications after surgery. Reconstruction of the ear is required in a variety of patients, especially in those with congenital anomalies and associated deformities or those suffering from accidents and trauma affecting the auricle. In this sense, this surgical approach has the ultimate goal of improving aesthetic and functional aspects of congenital and acquired anomalies of the ear. Throughout the book, the goal is to share the author’s experience, gathered in the course of 43 years dedicated to this challenging field. Descriptions and illustrative photos concerning correction and reconstruction of the auricle caused by prominent ear surgery are presented in detail. The didactic approach, supplemented by color illustrations and surgical photos, helps to demonstrate basic and advanced techniques alike. With forewords by Ivo Pitanguy and Jorge Psillakis.

Book Description
This book is an analysis of the developments associated with the Belt and Road Initiative (B&RI) five years after Xi Jinping announced both the Silk Road Economic Belt (SREB) and the 21st Maritime Silk Road (21MSR). Together, these two dimensions constitute the B&RI, providing the so-called Chinese ‘project of the century’ with regional, inter-regional and global reach. This book aims at assessing the impact of the B&RI in all these dimensions and levels of influence. This is a current and promising theme, not only in the short and medium terms, but also within a broader timescale, reflecting Chinese strategic thinking itself, since Chinese philosophy and culture are oriented towards long-term and inter-generational perspectives. Likewise, both the title of this publication and the way it has been organized result from the empirical perception that China asserts a conservative attitude towards foreign affairs, redesigned in multiple dimensions, to create a perception of domestic unity and global prestige. In this vein of thought, the B&RI is already influencing and will continue to influence, directly or indirectly, the current economic and political order.
