Daniel Murray: Late Archbishop of Dublin, as Contained in the Commemorative Oration Pronounced in the Church of the Conception, Dublin, on Occasion of His Grace's Months' Mind; With Historical and Biographical Notes The friends of Archbishop Murray, at whose instance the following pages have been prepared for publication, are entitled to inquire, why it is that their appearance in print has been so long delayed. Numerous circumstances, all of them beyond the writer's control, combined to produce the unexpected result. For six months, and upwards, the "Oration" and several of the appended notes have been printed off, and have lain quietly by, in the vain hope that, long before now, they would be overtaken by their companion sheets. When first the writer bound himself to the task of compiling the little memoir, valuable sources of information on the subject of which it treats would, he fondly thought, be opened to him by the examination and arrangement of the Archhishop's papers; piles of which, it is known, have survived his Grace; and he deemed it well worth delay, to await the moment which would put him in possession of documents so unique and so interesting.
