Greanock Literally meaning green rock, this term was used to describe the way the world was, back in the days of the beginning. Those were the days when Dagoththe first eviland his servants arrived in the world and began an epic war with the four houses of immortals. Those were the days when Kingsteel, a mortal man and warrior smith, defeated Dagothand there was hope. Those days have gone. Kingsteel is long dead. The might of his blood is lost, and the four houses have grown secretive. In their shadow, the villages of men and dwarfs developed into vast empiresand turned against each other. But then, people came who paved new roads to new places, crafted out of the rubble of the past. Far from war and on the edge of the wild, they built cities reborn from the ashes. Two young heroes in the makingthe gentle giant Erik Iron Rod and the girl of his dreams, Gayle Fletcherjoin forces with two mysterious adventurers: Jase, a Quadrian Elf swordsman, and Fenrix, the famous hunter of dragons. Although raised in a peaceful farming town, Gayle and Erik quickly find themselves swept up on a world of war and enchantment teetering on the edge of ruin. For Gayle, the girl who would be queen, the future is yet to be written. Greanock Now, this term means time lost and the way the world will never be again.

Book Description
Archery, one of mankind’s most ancient skills, was Europe’s most important weapon for centuries. English archers in the Hundred Years War outnumbered men-at-arms by as many as ten to one. With a Bended Bow covers all aspects of the manufacture of ‘artillery’, the shooting styles and the uses of mediaeval and Renaissance archery based upon contemporary manuscripts, preserved artefacts and accurate reproductions. The book is in two parts. The Guilds considers bows and arrows and their manufacture, for citizens and for the crown. The Archers is about the use of bows in practice, in hunting, and in warfare. The book is illustrated throughout with mediaeval illustrations and line drawings by the author. Over the past ten to fifteen years, there has been an explosion of interest in mediaeval history and ‘primitive’ or instinctive archery. Re-enactment groups have mushroomed in the United States and Canada, New Zealand, Great Britain and continental Europe. This book answers many questions asked by members of such groups and by those with an interest in the Mediaeval period. How were bowstrings attached? How long were clothyard arrows? Were laminated bows used? Were bow sights used? What kind of targets were made? Did combat archers actually shoot accurately, or just rely on mass volleys? With a Bended Bow is a significant contribution to our understanding of the Middle Ages.

Book Description
Originally published in German in 1923, this work records much of Vanuatu's early material culture. It is the result of two years of field work by Swiss anthropologist Felix Speiser between 1910 and 1912. Speiser attempted to collect everything that could still be obtained of the objects constituting Vanuatu's native culture. Ethnology of Vanuatu presents culturally and historically significant photographs and drawings by Speiser assembled during the expedition, along with color photos taken in the Basel Museum, which, taken together, represent the Speiser collection. Through the use of Speiser's collection of cultural photographs and illustrations, it has been possible to revive certain art forms thought to have already vanished.
