Book Description
Introducing Mya who is a delightful, happy five-year-old little girl and the inspiration for this book. She lives in Florida and especially loves unicorns and rainbows. Mya's Rainbow began as a song. After I wrote the lyrics, my very talented friend added the music and vocals to it and recorded it on a CD. When I heard the song, I fell in love with it and thought it would make a wonderful book. A rainbow stretched across the sky is a rare picture of beautiful colors. When I think about Mya, I think of a rainbow as like a rainbow. She always brightens up our world. In this book, Mya finds her own rainbow made from some of her favorite things that color her world. I am looking forward to writing another book, Mya Explores the Seashore. Writing and illustrating Mya's Rainbow has been the realization of my dream to write a children's book. I hope it will inspire children to see and appreciate the colors that fill and brighten the world around them. It is an amazing journey that I hope will continue. Enjoy!

Book Description
Twelve-year-old Mya Parsons could save the world and organize her family, if only she had her own cell phone. A Dork Diaries for today's socially conscious young readers. Mya Parsons runs her school's social justice club with her best friend, Cleo. Her lifelong desire is to work for the United Nations and change the world, and then bask in all the ensuing adulation. Her more immediate desire is to get a phone, preferably one like Cleo's, with a leopard-print case to match. When her distracted dad and her long-distance mom (temporarily in Myanmar taking care of Mya's grandmother) both say no, no way, and possibly never, Mya launches a campaign to prove herself reliable and deserving. She advertises her babysitting services, takes on more responsibility around the house, and attempts to supervise her sister's skateboarding lessons. Her efforts leave her ego bruised and the kitchen slightly scorched. She's no closer to touch-screen victory, let alone the Nobel Peace Prize she deserves. But all that changes after an accident leaves Mya to take charge--an experience which helps her realize how much she's grown, with or without access to proper communications.

Book Description
He’s a widower who has lost the perfect wife. So, why is he drawn to a woman who’s not the marrying kind? Steinar is adjusting to life as a single dad of seven-year-old twins. He hoped that moving back to his home country would bring healing to his little family, but settling into their new home in a small Norwegian town is proving harder than he thought. His children struggle with the language and miss their life in England. Getting involved in the community might be the answer, and he’s happy to volunteer in the town’s Christmas festival. Reidun bucks traditional roles and never thought of herself as wife material, nor the mothering type. But now that she’s the only single woman left in her friend group, she’s spending a lot more time alone than she’d like. She needs a new project to keep herself busy, and planning her small town’s first ever Christmas festival sounds perfect. Amid the twinkling lights and festive preparations, Reidun doesn’t expect the single dad and his feisty twins to find the soft spot in her heart. They’re used to the perfect homemaking wife and mom, and she’s anything but. This Christmas, they’re all about to learn that sometimes God’s perfect gifts come in the most unlikely packaging. After the Frost is Book 5 in Milla Holt’s Seasons of Faith Christian romance series. Five friends were in the same wedding in a small Norwegian town over twenty years ago. Four bridesmaids, one bride. Now, two decades on, each woman learns that God’s timing is perfect as they find forever love later in life.

Book Description
The symposium "Pacific Salmon and Their Ecosystems: Status and Future Options',' and this book resulted from initial efforts in 1992 by Robert J. Naiman and Deanna J. Stouder to examine the problem of declining Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.). Our primary goal was to determine informational gaps. As we explored different scientific sources, state, provincial, and federal agencies, as well as non-profit and fishing organizations, we found that the information existed but was not being communicated across institutional and organizational boundaries. At this juncture, we decided to create a steering committee and plan a symposium to bring together researchers, managers, and resource users. The steering committee consisted of members from state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations, and private industry (see Acknowledgments for names and affiliations). In February 1993, we met at the University of Washington in Seattle to begin planning the symposium. The steering committee spent the next four months developing the conceptual framework for the symposium and the subsequent book. Our objectives were to accomplish the following: (1) assess changes in anadromous Pacific Northwest salmonid populations, (2) examine factors responsible for those changes, and (3) identify options available to society to restore Pacific salmon in the Northwest. The symposium on Pacific Salmon was held in Seattle, Washington, January 10-12, 1994. Four hundred and thirty-five people listened to oral presentations and examined more than forty posters over two and a half days. We made a deliberate attempt to draw in speakers and attendees from outside the Pacific Northwest.
