This course has been a success, though the sale Of tickets was not what one would have expected in a thriving village Of two or three thousand souls. It is said that the purpose to which the profits of the course were to be devoted kept many away. It is to be hoped, that when any of the other churches get up a course of lectures to put their place Of worship in decent order, the Liberal Christians of Laconia will remember this, and show the generous catholicity Of their faith by such a purchase of tickets as will fill the house.
