L'écoulement turbulent autour d'un cylindre circulaire à grand nombre de Reynolds est analysé expérimentalement en utilisant les techniques PIV, PIV Stéréoscopique et PIV haute cadence. Les nombres de Reynolds étudiés correspondent à l'entrée de l'écoulement dans le régime critique, marqué par la chute brutale de traînée. Le cylindre est placé en milieu confiné afin de permettre des comparaisons avec des simulations numériques effectuées sur un domaine réaliste. Une base de données permettant la validation et l'amélioration des modèles de turbulence pour les approches statistiques avancées est ainsi fournie. Une attention particulière est portée à la décomposition du mouvement en une composante organisée et une composante aléatoire. Pour ceci, la décomposition en moyenne de phase, puis la décomposition en modes propres orthogonaux (POD), sont appliquées et comparées. Les contributions de chacune des composantes du mouvement au tenseur des contraintes turbulentes sont ensuite analysées.
