As soon as danger from frost is over, transplant with sod, so as not to disturb the plants, into hills in the open ground. For general crop sow from about the first to the middle of May in rich, _mellow, ' warm Soil, Use a shovelful of well-rotted manure in each hill and, cover it two inches deep with fine earth. On this sow the seed, about eight or ten seeds to a hill cover one-half inch with earth and press down. When danger bugs is past thin out to four plants to 'a hill.
